It’s been a while since pop-punk icons Fall Out Boy surprised us with a new album, but it seems 2023 will be their year! The band celebrated Christmas by dropping a quirky claymation visual to tease their new music.

The two-minute video was made in collaboration with the animator Mr. Oz and it’s one of the quirkiest things you’ll see all day. It features everything from stars descending from the sky to a dog embarking on an adventure of a lifetime after being swallowed by an alien.

This video isn’t Fall Out Boy’s first attempt to tease their return. Just last month, they took out an ad in the Chicago Tribune to tease a new logo for “FOB 8” followed by the words, “If you build it, they will come” against a black background.

Shortly after that, they also sent postcards to fans with the title “Pink Seashell Beach”, reading a cryptic message: “I saw you in a bright clear field. Hurricane heat in my head. The kind of pain you feel to get good in the end. Inscribed like stone and faded by the rain: ‘Give up what you love give up what you love before it does you in…’”

The band also launched two websites to tease their new album, dubbed “sending my love from the other side” and “sending my love from pink seashell beach”,  but we’re yet to learn if any of them represent the names of the actual songs.
