Ed Sheeran’s fans have been patiently awaiting the follow-up to his hit album Divide for quite some time, and he’s finally ready to make it happen. In a recent Instagram post, the British hit-maker revealed he’s planning to drop a new record later this year.

Sheeran revealed the exciting news in a recent birthday post, accompanied by a snap of his pirate-themed birthday cake and an adorable retro photo that shows him dressed as a pirate for his third birthday.

“30 today. Thank you for all your wonderful messages, I feel very loved… I’ll be back online with the 4th installment in the series later this year, until then xx,” wrote Sheeran on Instagram.

The singer’s third studio album ÷ aka Divide came out in 2017, and produced smash hits “Shape of You”, “Galway Girl”, and “Castle on the Hill”. It also saw Sheeran embarking on a successful world tour, which earned the title of most attended and highest-grossing tour of all time.

Back in 2019, Sheeran surprised his fans with another epic project—the star-studded EP No.6 Collaborations Project, which featured appearances from Justin Bieber, Camila Cabello, Travis Scott, Eminem, Cardi B, and many more.
