Scottish synth-pop sensation Chvrches will offer their fans some fresh versions of the songs that were part the band’s latest album, 2018’s Love is Dead. The group recently announced a new EP Hansa Session, which will see five songs from the Love is Dead being reimagined with acoustic performances and string quartet arrangements.

The extended play, which was recorded in Berlin’s Hansa Studios, will drop on 16th November. Chvrches die-hard fans will also have the opportunity to get a limited edition 10” vinyl of the EP on December 14th.

Hansa Studios is one of the most iconic music studios in Germany and place where David Bowie, Depeche Mode, U2, Iggy Pop and many other music superstars recorded their albums.

“It was really fun to try and reinterpret the songs and still communicate the messages and emotions with different arrangements,” – said the band’s frontwoman Lauren Mayberry about the project. “Once an album is out and you’re on the road, it’s harder to be creative so it’s exciting when those opportunities present themselves, and getting to make music in places like Hansa and Bad Robot is really a bucket list thing for all of us.”
