Katy Perry has shared a new music video for her single “Small Talk.”
The new single was co-written by Perry Kasher Hindlin, Johan Carlsson and Charlie Puth. The track explores the story of a relationship gone wrong. In the chorus, she sings: ” Acting like we never met / Faking like we just forget / We were lovers / And now there’s nothing left but small talk.”
The music video sees Perry dressed in glad rags, doting over her dog who she is training to be in the Mutt Ball. Next, Perry has hooked up with a handsome stranger and the dog is weeping in his kennel, feeling neglected.
Unfortunately, the track amounts to nothing special and is far from the pop bangers we usually receive from her. It is mostly a bore and although the video is good fun, it’s still just another song about a relationship that’s over.
Throughout the track’s interlude, Katy Perry sings “bla bla bla bla bla bla” which pretty much sums up the reception of the song as a whole.
