According to the guys from Cheap Trick, “here comes the summer.”

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees just dropped their new song titled “The Summer Looks Good on You” and showed that they still have what it takes to make a proper hit. This light and bluesy track serves as the leading single for the band’s upcoming album, which will be their 20th studio release and is scheduled for later this year.

You can check out this uplifting song below.

“The Summer Looks Good on You” was co-written by vocalist Robin Zander, guitarist Rick Nielsen, and bassist Tom Petersson and produced by the band’s frequent collaborator Julian Raymond. Raymond worked on three previous Cheap Trick albums, 2016’s Bang, Zoom, Crazy… Hello and 2017’s releases We’re All Alright! and Christmas Christmas.

While the band has yet to reveal the details of their upcoming album, guitarist Rick Nielsen recently told Buzz Magazine that they already finished 10 songs for the release.

“We have about 10 songs down now, so it is coming along,” Nielsen said when asked about the new album. “I will call you first when the new album is ready!”

Backed by the new single, Cheap Trick is embarking on a massive tour across North America on May 18th. Titled Nothin’ But a Good Time, the tour will see Cheap Trick playing with Poison on most of the shows, while being joined by Lynyrd Skynyrd, Def Leppard and Journey on selected dates.
