Boygenius is one of the best supergroups working today, and their long-awaited debut studio album The Record is finally here. They promoted its release in the best way possible—by dropping mesmerizing short titled “The Film”, directed by none other than Kristen Stewart.

Boygenius is the indie supergroup formed by Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus, and they’ve been making music together since 2018. After releasing two EPs, they finally took things to the next level with their debut studio album The Record, which hit the shelves on March 31.

To promote its release, the trio dropped a short titled “The Film” which blends together music videos for songs “$20,” “Emily I’m Sorry”, and “True Blue”. To make the whole thing even more impressive, Kristen Stewart directed the video and said it was “a knockout, fall-down honor to be asked” to come on board.

“I am such an enormous fan. I wish I had them to look up to when I was a kid. I’m sure there’s kids here – you’re lucky, it’s a different world. And it’s something to behold … It felt like a fever dream making this thing,” Stewart told Variety.

The Record was released on March 31 via Interscope Records, and it features a total of 12 tracks co-written by the trio.
