K-pop fans are still recovering from BTS’s hiatus announcement, but it’s not all so bleak. Blackpink is still alive and kicking, and they’re set to return with a new album next month, which will be followed by the group’s largest world tour later this year.

According to YG Entertainment’s recent announcement, “a lot of Blackpink-esque music has been prepared over a long period of time”. Their next album will be released next month, and the all-girl group is planning to film a music video for one of the singles in mid-July.

To make the whole thing better, Blackpink will support this album with “the largest world tour in the history of a K-pop girl group”, set to kick off by the end of the year. To be fair, their last tour was the highest-grossing tour by a Korean girl group, so they’re basically their own biggest competition.

Blackpink is yet to confirm the release date and tracklist of their upcoming album, which serves as a follow-up to their 2020 record The Album. In addition to topping the charts in South Korea, this LP also reached no. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart in the US. It produced hit singles “How You Like That”, “Lovesick Girls”, and “Ice Cream” featuring Selena Gomez.
