Björk has never shied away from being seen as an eccentric and peculiar artist, and she fully embraces the bizarre with her latest music video.

The visuals for “Tabula Rasa” are a true work of art, showing a humanoid figure undergoing a series of transformations in front of our very eyes.

This surreal video has to be seen to be believed, and its director Tobias Gremmler used the music and lyrics of Björk’s latest single as his main source of inspiration.

“The visual transformation of Björk into faun-like flowers and mountainous landscapes embodies the utopian concept of a harmonious coexistence between nature and human based on empathy,” explained Gremmler.

This media artist also helped Björk with her series of elaborate staged concerts titled Cornucopia. She thanked him for his dedication over the last 18 months and said she’s “sublimely grateful” for an opportunity to work with him.

“It has been a journey through abstract descriptions of tiny sections of songs, details and nuances, Skypes and texts and resting restless in the ambiguity of that meeting point between a song and a moving image,” wrote Björk on Facebook.
