In an industry that enjoys constantly pitting women against each other, Adele always enjoyed lifting other artists up. She opened up about her favorite stars of the new generation in a recent interview and gave a shout-out to Dua Lipa, SZA, and Victoria Monét.

Adele was presented with the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award during The Hollywood Reporter‘s annual Women in Entertainment gala, and she did an in-depth interview with the magazine. She discussed a wide range of topics, from her Las Vegas Residency and her future plans to projects and collaborations she turned down in the past.

After being asked if she checked out the Grammy Awards nominations, Adele correctly guessed that SZA is the most-nominated artist of the year. She described her as one of her favorite artists of the new generation but added she also enjoyed Victoria Monét’s music.

Adele also name-checked the fellow Brit Dua Lipa as one of her favorite young artists and told the magazine she always knew she was going to be a star.

“I’m also very excited that Dua Lipa is back. When I first ever heard ‘I’ve got new rules, I count ’em’ – that song (‘New Rules’), I remember saying to my manager, ‘Whoa.’ I was like, ‘She should be the next big pop girl.’ And she is. I’m so excited she’s back,” said Adele.
