The documentary will air on ABC and will include actual footage from recording sessions and interviews with Beyoncé herself. The music queen co-directed, wrote, and produced the hour-long documentary with Ed Burke. Burke and Beyoncé previously collaborated for her Netflix film Homecoming.

Beyoncé has described The Gift as a “love letter to Africa”. It showcases the best talent from Africa and includes contributions from the likes of Major Lazer, Childish Gambino, and Kendrick Lamar. It is intended to be an authentic showcase of the sound of Africa and bounces off the stunning depiction of the Sahara in The Lion King.

You can listen to The Gift on Spotify now. Making The Gift will land at 10 pm, on Monday on ABC.
