]]>Usher was confirmed as a Super Bowl halftime show performer back in September and described this as an honor of a lifetime. Seth Dudowsky, NFL Head of Music, said they picked him to headline the show because he’s an icon whose music has left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape.
Usher came into the halftime show with high expectations and managed to live up to them. He opened the set with “My Way” and built up the hype with electrifying renditions of “Caught Up” and “U Don’t Have to Call”, before being joined by several guests.
Alicia Keys was the first to hit the stage, joining Usher for “If I Ain’t Got You” and “My Boo”. H.E.R. and will.i.am. followed in her footsteps, while Lil Jon and Ludacris helped Usher close the set with “Turn Down for What” and “Yeah!”
Super Bowl LVIII was held at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada on February 11, and the Kansas City Chiefs clinched their second consecutive Super Bowl trophy.

]]>Jay-Z recently attended the premiere of The Book Of Clarence, which he helped produce, and discussed the possibility of headlining the Super Bowl with Entertainment Tonight.
“To get on stage for the Super Bowl halftime show? I don’t know. I thought it would be selfish to pick myself too early, but maybe one year,” explained Jay-Z.
The Grammy-winning rapper may not take the Super Bowl stage anytime soon, but he can’t wait to see Usher headline the next halftime show. He described him as “one of the greatest performers that we’ve seen in our time” and added he’s going to take his rightful place among the Super Bowl halftime show legends.
Jay-Z has been serving as the NFL’s live music entertainment strategist through his company Roc Nation since 2019, and he produced several iconic halftime show performances over the years. Rihanna was the most recent artist to take the Super Bowl stage last year, and she set a new record for the most-watched halftime show of all time.

]]>The NFL joined forces with Apple Music for a series of funny videos that see Usher being caught off guard after learning he’ll headline the Super Bowl. Kim Kardashian, Deion Sanders, Marshawn Lynch, and Odell Beckham Jr. were in charge of delivering the lucky news to the R&B hitmaker in these promotional videos.
Usher released an official statement confirming his headlining spot and said it’s the honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off his bucket list. This news come just a few months after he told Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans that he’d like to take the Super Bowl stage.
“I’d be a fool to say no. If things line up the way we would all hope, one day that moment would happen… I think I have a catalog that obviously speaks for itself, so to be able to celebrate on that day, it’s obviously about football, but everybody really anticipates the performance,” the singer said back in April.
Usher will headline the Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 11, 2024 and drop his new studio album Coming Home that same day.

]]>Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar were in charge of headlining the Super Bowl LVI halftime show, while 50 Cent made a guest appearance alongside Anderson .Paak. He performed his smash hit “In Da Club” while suspended upside down from the ceiling, but he now feels this wasn’t really necessary.
50 Cents’ performance spawned many memes after the Super Bowl and the rapper welcomed them with open arms, but he still wishes he entered the stage differently.
“I think that was a mistake for the Super Bowl. Everybody else walked in regular, the songs still went over and they got the trophy, too. They all won an Emmy. They got the same thing I got and I had to put myself upside down,” he told USA Today.
The Super Bowl LVI halftime show was met with critical acclaim and it went on to receive three Emmys, including Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Special (Live).

Rihanna took the Super Bowl stage at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on February 12, without any guest stars. She performed a medley of her biggest hits, including “Work”, “Umbrella”, “Diamonds”, and “We Found Love”, and confirmed her second pregnancy during the show.
Rihanna discussed her Super Bowl performance in the cover story with British Vogue and said she just wanted to have fun and put on a show for people who’ve been supporting her for years.
“I haven’t done this in a minute and I’m doing this for the people that love my music, the people that have supported me and gotten me to this place in my career… It’s me really just getting back onstage – a crazy stage to be back on – but I’m really doing this for my fans,” she explained.

“I’d be a fool to say no. If things line up the way we would all hope, one day that moment would happen. I’ve had the opportunity to graze the stage in support of ‘OMG’ and Will.i.am but that was one moment,” he told Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans.
Usher added he has a catalog that “obviously speaks for itself” and that it would feel good to celebrate it on the Super Bowl stage. He also reflected on some of the iconic halftime show performances while chatting with Evans, and singled out Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s set alongside Eminem, Marry J. ]]>Rihanna was up to quite a challenge when she was picked as a halftime show performer, and she was very open about her struggle to celebrate her entire catalog in just 13 minutes. She put together 39 versions of the setlist, and eventually picked 12 songs that took us down memory lane and spanned her entire career.
Rihanna kicked things off with “B—h Better Have My Money”, a somewhat ironic choice since the halftime show performers never get paid. She didn’t rely on special guests to make her performance pop – even though many expected she’d bring out Jay-Z or Drake – and surprised us by announcing her second pregnancy instead.
The list of songs she performed included such songs as “Only Girl in the World”, “We Found Love”, “Rude Boy”, and “Work” before she finished things off with two of her biggest smash-hits – “Umbrella” and “Diamonds”.
Super Bowl LVII took place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on February 12, and Chris Stapleton was in charge of performing the national anthem.

Mary J. Blige didn’t have a chance to fully unleash her power at the Super Bowl because the show featured additional four headliners, but her performance was still one of the night’s highlights. She rocked our world with amazing renditions of “Family Affair” and “No More Drama” and kept us asking for more.
Eminem makes a spectacle every time he hits the stage, and his Super Bowl performance was no different. The rapper’s powerful rendition of his smash hit “Lose Yourself” was the talk of the night, especially after he took the knee at the end of his performance.
