]]>Harvey has been busy touring across Europe recently, and she’s now plotting a stateside show due for fall 2024, but she’s yet to share additional information about her U.S. tour.
“It’ll be a look at all of my material over the years, but with a concentration on the latest album…I think it’ll be a really comprehensive show for all ages of PJ Harvey fans. It’s been a great joy, actually, to play some of those earlier songs. I haven’t played many of them live for years,” she told Vulture.
PJ Harvey’s European tour kicked off in Dublin last month, and it includes stops in London, Manchester, Amsterdam, Paris, and Berlin. It will conclude with two concerts at Sentrum Scene in Oslo, Norway in late October.
The singer’s tenth studio album I Inside the Old Year Dying hit the shelves in July, and it marks her first release in six years. It was met with critical acclaim and produced singles “A Child’s Question, August” and “I Inside the Old I Dying”.

]]>Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is the week’s most talked-about new album, and it gave us several new “from the vault” songs. Swift collaborated with the likes of Fall Out Boy and Paramore’s Hayley Williams, but “I Can See You” stands out as the album’s most exciting new release.
No album this week created as much buzz as the re-recorded version of Speak Now, but not for the lack of trying. PJ Harvey, Rauw Alejandro, and Anohni and the Johnsons also dropped some new music, so stick around to find out which of their new songs made it to our list.
K-Pop artists are continuing to have a moment on the global scene. Tomorrow X Together tapped Jonas Brothers for their latest collaboration “Do It Like That”, while girl group NewJeans made waves with their new single “Super Shy”. Fifty Fifty’s “Barbie Dreams” is also set to become their next big hit.
Our list also includes new music from Lil Baby, Dominic Fike, and Weezer, so check it out and see if your favorite new tracks made the cut.

]]>Harvey described “I Inside the Old Year Dying” as a delicate and beautiful song that eluded her and her fellow producers John Parish and Flood until the very last day in the studio. Its lyrics are meant to capture the ethereal and melancholic longing for a savior.
“Everyone and everything anticipates the arrival of this figure of love and transformation. There is a sense of se-ual longing and awakening and of moving from one realm into another – from child to adult, from life to death and the eternal,” she explained in a statement.
“I Inside the Old Year Dying” will be featured on PJ Harvey’s tenth studio album of the same name – her first LP since The Hope Six Demolition Project from 2016. It will hit the shelves on July 7, and she previously teased its release with the lead single, “A Child’s Question, August”.
PJ Harvey will support her new album with a tour across the UK and Europe, set to kick off in late September with two concerts at the 3Olympia Theatre in Dublin, Ireland.

]]>Most of the songs on our list hail from newly released albums, covering many different genres. The National’s First Two Pages of Frankenstein is our favorite new release, and each song on this LP deserves a mention, but none of them created more buzz than “The Alcott” featuring Taylor Swift.
Jack Harlow’s Jackman came out of nowhere—quite literarily—since the rapper announced its release just a few days before dropping ten new songs, including “Common Ground”. Labrinth and Diplo also released new albums this week and gave us a few amazing collaborations along the way.
Bebe Rexha’s latest album Bebe is also a collaboration-heavy record featuring several music legends, starting with the country icon Dolly Parton, featured on her new single “Seasons”.
Our list this week also includes new songs from Kesha, PJ Harvey, Niall Horan, and Jessie Ware, so check it out and choose your favorite.

]]>PJ Harvey’s next LP will be titled I Inside the Old Year Dying and it’s coming our way on July 7. She admitted it was a difficult album to make and it stems from the ideas dating back all the way to 2017 when she felt she lost her connection to music, but the final cut was written over just three weeks.
PJ Harvey’s creativity was finally reignited after a conversation with the Oscar-winning filmmaker Steve McQueen. He advised her to rediscover why she fell in love with words, images, and music in the first place, instead of focusing on writing an album.
“I think the album is about searching, looking — the intensity of first love, and seeking meaning. Not that there has to be a message, but the feeling I get from the record is one of love – it’s tinged with sadness and loss, but it’s loving,” she said in a statement.
“A Child’s Question, August” was released as the lead single from PJ Harvey’s next album, which will feature a total of 12 tracks.

]]>Now, she shared six new songs from show’s soundtrack and dropped a video for the track “‘The Crowded Cell”.
This soundtrack saw PJ Harvey collaborating with visionary filmmaker Shane Meadows, who created the series and directed the music video for the song “‘The Crowded Cell”.
“Shane has a unique directness and sensibility to his work which I am drawn to and aspire to in my own work, so our collaboration was open and trusting. I sent Shane ideas as demos for him to try out as he edited and let him choose what he used and where to greatest effect,” said the singer in a press release.
The reflective video for “The Crowded Cell” is pretty simple, but the fans of the show will appreciate it very much. It features authentic footage from the closing credits of The Virtues, showing the younger version of the main character running away from a care home.
