The post Noel Gallagher is Returning to the Studio to Work on a New Album This Winter appeared first on Hot Pop Today.
]]>Gallagher recently told The Sun he had to take a break from writing music because he has a lot of songs left to record. He’s planning to get back in the studio this winter and get the older material out of the way so he could start writing some new music.
“In the pandemic, there was nothing to do all day so I just wrote songs. There are another two albums-worth of material there. I think I’m going to be back in the studio in January, so we’ll see where it goes from there,” Gallagher told The Sun.
The singer’s latest album under his solo moniker Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Council Skies, came out back in June. It debuted at no. 2 on the UK Albums chart and was preceded by the singles “Pretty Boy”, “Easy Now”, “Dead to the World”, “Open the Door, See What You Find”, and the title track “Council Skies”.

]]>Gallagher talked about his plans for the future and shared that he intends to take some time off soon. “I’m ready to call it a day, actually. I’m ready to stop touring for a while. I’m ready to take a big chunk of time off,” he said.
According to the 52-year-old guitarist and vocalist, he envisions himself releasing less material and making bigger breaks between tours. “I can see myself not producing as much material and touring every five to six years, as opposed to every two or three,” he added.
Noel Gallagher has been quite busy in 2019, having released three EPs with his accompanying band High Flying Birds while touring the United States with Smashing Pumpkins. In the meantime, Gallagher finished another extended play, which is set to arrive this year.
The Blue Moon Rising will be out on March 6th, 2020, with EP’s leading single “Wandering Star” being presented back in November. The release will feature five songs including three original tracks and two remixes.

]]>At their Reading show, it was pointed out that drummer Tony Hawkins had a photograph of Noel and Liam Gallagher on his bass drum. Tony responded by telling the audience that they want Oasis back together.
The band shouted out: “We’re trying. Let’s sign a petition. Everyone here, okay?” Grohl then asked the audience: “How many people wanna see Oasis f**king play a show?”
The stunt was a token of Foo Fighters’ admiration for the legendary Brit-pop band. Noel Gallagher, however, has responded with less than admiration.
At his gig in San Diego, Noel referenced the stunt and called out to the audience: “I’d like to start a petition to get Foo Fighters to split up.”
So if you’re waiting for that Oasis reunion… you might not want to hold your breath.

]]>What will Gallagher do with all the money? According to him, he will buy a plane, a yacht, a chimp with a top hat and a rocket – but he was probably joking. “Trust me, I will be selling mine to the highest bidder. Well, what am I going to keep them for? So my kids can benefit? Nah,” said the singer.
He was also asked if an Oasis reunion is possible in the future. “I sincerely hope not”, said Gallagher crunching any hopes the fans had. This reaction is not so surprising giving the years-long and clearly public feud between brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher. Noel recently labeled Liam’s solo music as “unsophisticated music for unsophisticated people by an unsophisticated man”.

]]>The newcomers recently announced that they will be embarking on their first national tour after touring with Noel Gallagher.
Following their run with one of the biggest names in rock, you would have thought the band would feel relatively cool about playing at a series of intimate venues around the UK.
For the Dublin rockers, however, these shows mean everything.
“We want to make these shows the best night of our audience’s life,” frontman Eli Hewson, whose dad is U2 frontman Bono, admitted to NME. “They’re coming to see us as we are, and there’s nothing else. There’s a lot of pressure to make it a good night, but if we be ourselves then we’ll be alright!”
Inhaler bassist Rob Keating added: “We’ve done our fair share of small pubs and clubs, which was great, but it’s also good to have those big shows where you’re given 30 minutes to do what you like. There was no pressure on us and to have that platform was great. To see what it’s like to perform on those stages, because obviously that’s our end goal.”
Eli concluded: “For me and for us as a band, we’ve known that there’s going to be doors open. There’s no doubt about it, but those doors will shut just as fast as they open if we’re not good. It’s the pressure to step up our game and not be s***.”
Inhaler will kick off their UK tour next month, on July 13th.

]]>Black Star Dancing EP will see Gallagher and his backing band drawing influence from an array of other artists including David Bowie and ZZ Top.
“It manages to combine the influences of David Bowie, INXS, U2, Queen, Indeep AND ZZ Top FFS!,” said Gallagher according to NME. “I might have been watching too much Top Of The Pops recently … anyway, it’s ‘dope’ … not my words, but the words of Nile Rodgers who literally danced in the studio when he heard it!”
You can listen to “Black Star Dancing” below.
After the release of the EP, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will play several headlining shows and festivals in Europe, before embarking on a tour across North America in August with The Smashing Pumpkins.
Black Star Dancing will be Noel Gallagher’s first new release since he presented Who Built the Moon? in 2017. The album received critical acclaim while topping the UK Charts and reaching No.1 in several other countries.

]]>Although it was believed that the album is lost forever, Noel Gallagher gave fans a bit of hope that they might hear the record in his recent interview with Matt Morgan.
“I did find a copy of it recently in a sock drawer,” – said Gallagher of his scrapped solo album. “The masters, somebody has them, the masters have not been destroyed – but it won’t be coming out any time soon. It might be nice to go back and revisit it in years to come, because ‘Shoot A Hole Into The Sun’ is f***ing great and there might be more stuff like that in there. Best to give it a bit of distance though I think.”
Only a handful of people managed to hear the album before Gallagher decided to move on since he wasn’t pleased with the overall sound of it. It is believed that two songs he did with Amorphous Androgynous for his 2015’s album Chasing Yesterday, “The Right Stuff” and “The Mexican,” are similar to the sound of the long-lost record.
Noel Gallagher’s most recent solo effort was album Who Built the Moon? released in late 2017. The album received glowing reviews and was marked as his best work since Oasis.

]]>“He’s desperate to get Oasis back but he knows he’s crossed that bridge.” said Liam. “And he’s not allowed to, his missus won’t let him now. Cos she’s another one.”
“I know for a fact, deep down, he wants to be playing stadiums… You can only play stadiums when I’m there,” he added. “I don’t think our kid’s got it in him anymore, anyway. It seems to me like he’s playing to the snobs and the world and the toffs.”
Both brothers have been doing well since Oasis disbanded in 2009. Noel Gallagher released three albums with his accompanying band the High Flying Birds, with each one of them peaking at number one of the UK Charts. Liam, on the other hand, after a failed experiment with the Beady Eye, released a solo album in 2017 titled As You Were. The album proved to be a smashing hit, debuting at number one in the UK and even outselling his brother’s new release Who Built the Moon?.
While Liam would most likely reform the band in a heartbeat, Noel consistently claims that won’t happen.
“I’ve been very consistent about it,” Noel said last year. “I don’t need the money, I don’t need the glory, I don’t need to relive the memories. If I was to get Oasis back together tomorrow and then do a tour, I’d have a hundred million dollars in the bank but I’d have learnt f** all. I’d have actually wasted a year of being in the studio with a person like David Holmes. It would be the death of me as a person.”
