]]>The Philly-based rapper teased her upcoming LP by sharing its quirky cover, shot by conceptual artist Alex De Corte. The 17th-century Italian clown Pierrot, fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli, and Donna Summer have been listed as inspirations for her new alter-ego.
Whack’s press release described this album cover as “the first reveal of the World Wide Whack character, an alter ego both untouchable and vulnerable, superhuman and painfully human, whose surprising story will unfold in images and video over the course of the album’s visual rollout”.
She also described the World Wide Whack as her debut album and said she hopes her fans will enjoy it as much as she does, but it’s technically her sophomore LP. Her debut studio album Whack World was released in 2018 by Interscope and made it to several lists of best albums that year.
World Wide Whack will be released on March 15, and its first single “Shower Song” will hit the shelves this Friday.

]]>From starring in a fake “Damper Hamper” informercial to sharing a photo of himself surrounded by fallen leaves replaced with hundreds of photos of his head, Sheeran took a pretty funny approach to teasing his new album. It was just a matter of time before he officially announced the release of his autumn-themed album, and that moment is finally here!
Autumn Variations will hit the shelves on September 29, and its name is inspired by Edward Elgar’s Enigma Variations. He dedicated his seminal work to his “friends pictured within”, and Sheeran embraced a similar approach to his new studio album.
Autumn Variations will feature a total of 14 songs, inspired by the life changes that Sheeran and his friends were going through last autumn.
“I wrote songs, some from their perspectives, some from mine, to capture how they and I viewed the world at that time. There were highs of falling in love and new friendships among lows of heartbreak, depression, loneliness, and confusion,” wrote Sheeran in a statement announcing his new album.

]]>The full tracklist of Rexha’s new album includes 12 songs, three of which we already got to hear. “I’m Good (Blue)” ft. David Guetta was released last year, and it was followed by the lead single “Heart Wants What It Wants” and the recently released song “Call on Me”.
Rexha also managed to get the country legend Dolly Parton on board, joining forces for the songs titled “Seasons”. A collaboration called “Satellite” with Snoop Dogg will also appear on this album.
Bebe will hit the shelves on April 28, and Rexha is already plotting its potential follow-up.
“I’ve finished my album and I’m already thinking, what’s the next thing? I am thinking of doing a super dance thing, not overthinking it. David’s been talking to me about it,” she told Wired.
Joining forces with Guetta would make sense since they found huge success with “I’m Good (Blue)”, which peaked at no. 4 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and topped the charts around the world.

Fear Inoculum was inspired by the number seven.
“I took a picture pointing to the number seven while we were recording, and a lot of the riffs Justin [Chancellor] and I brought in were in seven,” Adam Jones told Guitar World. “You don’t really go, ‘I’m going to write a riff in seven!’…Without being too descriptive about the concept, the main thing is that the seven beat just kept coming up, and riffs in seven kept coming up. It was really weird!”
Fear Inoculum is the follow-up to 2006’s 10,000 Days.

]]>According to Nick Cave, a third Grinderman album is en route, almost a decade since their last release.
According to multiple outlets, the singer-songwriter let it slip, writing in his latest Red Hands Files post that Grinderman’s two albums are “part of a yet to be completed trilogy, you might be happy to know.”
The band, which formed in 2005, released their debut LP in 2007, which was followed three years later with Grinderman 2.
In the post, Cave shared a story about Robert Fripp’s contribution to an extended version of Grinderman 2 cut “Heathen Child,” saying that the version is “Grinderman at their very best;” “recording with Robert Fripp remains one of the seismic events of my life,” he added.
“I felt as though Grinderman was laying claim to their roots,” he continued. “Super Heathen Child continues to have an extraordinary hold over me, and contains within it a deep emotional pull because it is attached directly to my adolescence.”
“Listening to it, I have that strange dizzying feeling a dream has when it suddenly becomes a reality; all that deep concentrated listening I did when I was a teenager manifesting itself over 40 years later in a Fripp solo that just blows the mind.”
Grinderman disbanded in 201 but got back together for an unexpected and brief reunion for 2013’s Coachella.

“There are so many songs like ‘the something of love’—you know, there’s ‘The Book of Love,’ ‘The Freeway of Love’…Then I thought of ‘falling down the stairs of your love,’ and I thought, that kind of works. I think it has that element of how do you deal with the ideas of love and happiness in this world right now? When current events are stressful, that makes a stress on people’s relationships, and you’re trying to figure out how to be happy in this loving relationship in this world that seems ugly at every turn,” said frontman and producer A.C. Newman in a statement.
