The post Lizzo Clears Up Speculations That She’s Quitting Music appeared first on Hot Pop Today.
]]>Lizzo recently took to social media to tell her followers that she’s “tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone” and constantly fighting “against lies being told about [her] for clout and views.” She wrapped up the statement by writing, “I didn’t sign up for this – I QUIT,” sparking rumors that her career on the music scene is over.
After stories about her potential retirement made the headlines, Lizzo was quick to clear the air. She shared the video explaining that she’s quitting “giving any negative energy attention”, but she’s planning to keep making music.
“What I’m not gonna quit, is the joy of my life, which is making music, which is connecting the people, ’cause I know I’m not alone… With that being said, I’m going to keep moving forward, I’m gonna keep being me” said Lizzo.
Lizzo’s last album Special came out in 2022, and produced the chart-topping single “About Damn Time”. She hasn’t released any new singles since “Pink” from Barbie: The Album.

]]>Lizzo appears in the 34th season’s finale “Homer’s Adventure Through the Windshield Glass“, which is set to premiere on May 21. Besides voicing a cartoon version of herself, she also lends a voice to Homer Simpson’s “elf spirit guide”.
In a clip shared by Lizzo on Instagram, the rapper’s character is shown recording voiceovers with Homer in the studio while Bart and Lisa are serving as directors. At one point, Bart starts slapping Homer for sound effects and produces a beat that encourages a jam session from Lizzo and Lisa.
“Every Icon has been on @thesimpsons — now I can add my name to the list! Thank you to the whole team for making this a dream come true,” wrote Lizzo in the caption of the video.
Lizzo also shared a photo from the episode’s couch gag.
Appearing in The Simpsons is not Lizzo’s first animated project. She previously starred in Adult Swim’s animated sitcom Brad Neely’s Harg Nallin’ Sclopio Peepio and had a voice role in Kelly Ashbury-directed animated musical UglyDolls.

]]>Guns N’ Roses, Lizzo, and Arctic Monkeys will top the bill at this year’s Glastonbury, but the lineup includes many more exciting acts. Lana Del Rey, Lil Nas X, Manic Street Preachers, Wizkid, and Blondie are also the newly announced acts to perform at Glastonbury.
Sunday afternoon’ “legend slot”, which usually draws in the biggest audience, has been reserved for Yusuf aka Cat Stevens, who’ll be following in the footsteps of Dolly Parton and Diana Ross.
Guns N’ Roses, Lizzo, and Arctic Monkeys are joining Elton John, who was announced as the headliner all the way back in December. His performance will close the festival at the Pyramid Stage on Sunday night and it will mark the final UK show of Elton’s last-ever tour.
Glastonbury Festival will return to Pilton, Summerset between June 21 and June 25, and you can check out the full lineup below. More acts and attractions are yet to be announced.

]]>Clips that have been circulating online show Lizzo signing: “Du, du hast/ Du hast mich!/ Oma!/ Du, du hast/ Du hast mich!” while the crowd cheers her on.
“Oh, Hamburg, I’m having fun …” she proclaimed after wrapping up the cover.
Now, you are probably wondering why Lizzo incorporated “Oma!,” which means grandma in German, into the song lyrics. Well, one TikTok user who shared the cover on social media explains that Lizzo had just learned the word and thought it would be fun to use it right away.
Lizzo is currently touring Europe in support of her fourth studio album, Special. She is set to have shows in Italy, France, the UK, and Ireland through March before returning for the continuation of the North America leg of the Special Tour.
“Du Hast” was released as a second single from Rammstein’s 1997 album Sehnsucht. The track saw limited exposure at first but has since become arguably their best-known song outside Germany. It was featured in various media, including movie soundtracks and video games.

]]>After entering the ceremony with nine nominations to tie with Jay-Z as the most nominated artist in Grammy history, Beyoncé managed to win four awards, bringing her career total to 32 trophies. She won awards for best dance/electronic recording (“Break My Soul”), best dance/electronic album (Renaissance), best traditional R&B performance (“Plastic Off the Sofa”), and best R&B song (“Cuff It”).
It was also a big night for Harry Styles, who won two awards with Harry’s House: album of the year and best pop vocal album. Lizzo also had a reason to celebrate after defeating the likes of Styles, Beyoncé, and Adele to win the record of the year with “About Damn Time”.
The Big Four categories delivered a few shockers this year, starting with Bonnie Raitt’s song of the year win with “Just Like That”. It was also quite surprising to see the jazz singer Samara Joy pick up the best new artist award, in the category which included the likes of Latto and Måneskin.
The 65th Annual Grammy Awards took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 5, with Trevor Noah serving as a host.

]]>The post Lizzo Drops New Single “About Damn Time” & Teases Her Fourth Studio Album appeared first on Hot Pop Today.
]]>“About Damn Time” comes with a playful music video, which opens with Lizzo leaving her support group. She quickly finds another way to deal with her anxiety—dancing everywhere she goes, from an empty hallway and office building to a swimming pool, where she’s showing off her moves while playing the flute.
“About Damn Time” will be featured on Lizzo’s upcoming studio album Special, set to be released on July 15. She told Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe that she wants to use this record to turn her fear into love.
“I think that the music really is going to speak for itself. I’m writing songs about love from every direction, and I hope that I can turn a little bit of the fear that’s been running rampant in this world, energetically into love,” said Lizzo.
The Grammy-winning singer performed “About Damn Time” during a recent appearance on Saturday Night Live, together with the song called “Special”. They’re both expected to be featured on her fourth studio album.

]]>According to Lil Nas X, he’s been talking to Lizzo about a collaboration.
“I was actually talking to Lizzo a few weeks ago [about this]. I feel that it’s definitely going to happen,” Lil Nas X revealed during his appearance on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge when asked a series of questions.
“It’s going to be a banger bop, everyone’s going to love it and [Radio 1 is] going to play it 3 billion times,” he continued.
Lil Nas X has also spoken in the past about wanting to work with Rihanna and Bad Bunny on a remix for “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”.
“I’m feeling Rihanna right now. Rihanna, get in this damn studio,” he said when speaking about his dream collab with Rihanna.
Nas X, who was recently featured on Time magazine’s 100 most influential people for 2021, performed three songs from his debut album and Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” during his appearance on Live Lounge.

]]>Lizzo recently made her way to Miami Beach to perform at SiriusXM and Pandora’s concert series ahead of the Super Bowl. She delivered another epic live show like she always does – but she wasn’t doing it all alone this time around.
All hell broke loose when she announced a surprise guest, and it turned out to be none other than Harry Styles! He joined her on stage, performed “Juice” by her side, and did a pretty good job joining in on the choreography.
Styles previously performed Lizzo’s hit song as part of his BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge session. He also took a moment to praise the “Truth Hurts” singer by saying, “She’s one of the most exciting artists working now for sure. She’s exactly what you want an artist to be, which is themselves.”

]]>Osheaga will take place over the course of the three-day weekend between July 31st and August 2nd. Parc Jean-Drapeau, located east of downtown Montreal, will once again serve as its main venue.
The announcement of Lizzo’s participation comes shortly after she collected three Grammy Awards, including the best pop solo performance for “Truth Hurts”. She’ll be joined by fellow headliners Foo Fighters and Kendrick Lamar, who already performed at this festival twice.
These three acts aren’t the only reason to be excited about the upcoming edition of Osheaga. The rest of the lineup is equally impressive and pretty diverse. The list of performers also includes Vampire Weekend, Lewis Capaldi, Leon Bridges, French Montana, and Bon Iver, providing a wide range of different genres to every festival-goer at Osheaga.

Lizzo’s involvement was expected since she topped the list of nominations with a total of eight nods. The same goes for Billie Eilish, who closely followed with six nominations.

]]>Shelton announced he’ll make an appearance with his fellow The Voice judge and real-life partner by tweeting “Nobody but you, @gwenstefani, that I’d want to share this year’s @RecordingAcad #GRAMMYs stage with!”
The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on January 26th, with Alicia Keys serving as the host. It’s safe to expect she’ll perform during the show, as well, and the list of performers at the ceremony is yet to expend.
Lizzo’s involvement was expected since she topped the list of nominations with a total of eight nods. The same goes for Billie Eilish, who closely followed with six nominations. Both artists are first-time Grammy nominees and they’ll go head to head in several major categories, including record, album, and song of the year.
