]]>The music video sees a man falling asleep while the news is still on, and being haunted by an army of demon zombies. The Lamb of God singer Randy Blythe said he came up with this concept many months ago and described it as a reminder not to be consumed by the omnipresent electronic devices.
“While these devices can be useful tools, and it is important to stay informed, it is equally important to remain engaged with the real, physical world we live in, not just digitally filtered representations of reality,” said Blythe in a statement.
Lamb of God’s new album will be released on May 8th, and it will be their first studio album of all-new material since 2015. It will also be their first album with Art Cruz, who replaced the band’s original drummer Chris Adler.

“The early 90s was such an important and vibrant time for rock music in general, and I feel like “Black” is one of the great songs from that era,” said Morton in a statement published alongside the clip. “Our approach in covering it was to present a super stripped-down version, sticking to the essence of the song. It’s got a very lonely feel to it and Mark Morales delivered an absolutely incredible vocal performance.”
Mark Morton debut solo album, titled Anesthetic, was released in early 2019. The release was well-received by critics and fans, although it didn’t make a commercial splash. Morton collaborated with several artists on the record including, Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge, Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix, Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy, and the late Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington.
Anesthetic was followed by Ether, which dropped on 17th January. According to Morton, the EP was inspired by acoustic sets he recently played and supposed to reflect his “more mellow vibe.”

]]>This will be the first album the band releases after former drummer and band founder Chris Adler’s parting. Adler’s position is filled by Art Cruz who replaced him on tours occasionally over the years. Former bands of Cruz are Prong and Winds of Plague.
Adler did not join the band’s 2018 tour due to physical and occupational therapy he was undergoing following a motorcycle accident in 2017. Last July, Adler has officially left the band. However, he denied rumors that health problems were the reason for it and cited creative differences as the real reason.
Since their 2015 album, the band released an EP, The Duke, and a covers album, Legion: XX under their original name Burn the Priest. This album contained covers for bands as Ministry, Melvins, and Bad Brains.

]]>Alder had been performing with his bandmates since 1994. In July, 25 years after the band originally got together under the name “Burn the Priest,” Alder revealed that he would be leaving the band for good. The band’s touring drummer, Art Cruz, has since taken over.
Now, after three months of silence, Alder has taken to Facebook to share his reasons for leaving.
“Allow me to start with a relative concept of understanding,” he wrote. “We all gave our lives to this, 26 years is not flippant. Each one of us sacrificed and lost much on a personal level to live the dream we had when we were kids. I will always love each member of the band for believing in me and agreeing to take on the world.”
He added: “We managed to find some love in the machine, but in turn it took things that cannot be recovered. I did not leave the dream. I did not make the decision to leave my life’s work. The truth is that, I am unwilling to paint by numbers.”
Elsewhere in the post, Alder debunked rumors that he had left the band due to health reasons. He clarified: “Many have asked about a motorbike accident I had in Thailand in 2017. It’s true that it was not pretty, but I’ve been well since August of 2018. Thank you for your concerns.”

“We’re very proud of everything this band has accomplished over the last two decades. We would like to thank Chris Adler for his contributions over the years and wish him the best in his future endeavors,” reads band’s official statement.
Adler will be replaced by Art Cruz, who previously worked with metal bands Prong and Winds of Plague, before joining Lamb of God during their latest tour.
“We’d like to officially welcome Art Cruz, who has been playing drums with us on tour for the last year, as the new drummer of Lamb of God. Art will be joining us in the studio as we begin pre-production and recording of a new album.”

Lamb of God’s latest album Legion: XX came out in 2018, but it was nothing like their previous records. It featured a series of metal covers, and the band released it under their original name Burn the Priest.

However, this is the story of Burn the Priest,” said guitarist Mark Morton in a statement. “The songs we chose to cover on this album reflect that story. They are touchstones from that point in time. The inspiration we gleaned from these bands and these songs carries through our work and our creative pursuits, even to this day. Many thanks to these bands for lighting our fire and endless gratitude to our fans around the world for keeping it lit.”
The band also revealed the first single from the album, cover of Accused’s “Inherit the Earth.”
