]]>The singer’s latest video is jam-packed with 2000s references and sees her hanging out inside her childhood bedroom. It shows her enjoying a bunch of different activates we all did during our teen years while no one was watching, like trying on a bunch of different outfits and dancing to the beats of our favorite song.
It was only fitting for this track to come with a video that takes us back to her childhood since she spent her teenage years hiding her true self, but learned how to fully embrace who she was and how to turn her dreams into a reality.
“She is an unofficial anthem to keep me going through the hard times when I’m unsure of myself. I wrote this song as a tribute to embracing your dreams and being unafraid to live fully in your truth without regrets,” Kiyoko told MTV.
“She” will be one of the songs featured on her next record I’m Too Sensitive For This Sh–, which still doesn’t have an official release date.

Her new tour will kick off in San Diego on January 29th, and she described it as “a great bridge to where she’s headed for the sophomore album” while discussing her future plans with Rolling Stone.
Hayley Kiyoko also admitted that her heavy touring schedule can be overwhelming, because “there’s no book on how to survive tour and how to take care of yourself and be there for others”. The list of things that help her keep a clear head includes everything from acupuncture and essential oils to good nail salons and lots of Purell.

“It’s really hard when you love someone who doesn’t feel the same way. In this video, I wanted to bring to life the support group we all need when our love for someone isn’t being reciprocated. Having a strong support system of friends is so important to remind us we are loved and we are not alone,” said Hayley Kiyoko about the video that she directed on her own.
“I Wish” is the first single she released this year, and it’s set to appear on her next album, the follow-up to 2018 record Expectations.
