]]>In a press release, BTS’ label BigHit stated that “Closer Than This” is dedicated to the group’s fans and “encapsulates Jimin’s genuine feelings for ARMY.” The song became a huge hit upon its release and topped the iTunes charts in more than 100 countries around the globe.
“As we approach the final days of 2023, we hope that “Closer Than This,” with its lyrics conveying Jimin’s love and affection for his fans, will bring you hope and warmth,” BigHit added.
Jimin shared his debut studio album, Face, back in March. He was listed as a co-writer on all of the record’s tracks alongside frequent BTS collaborators Pdogg and Ghstloop, who also produced the project.
Face had a record debut in South Korea, selling 1 million copies in the first 24 hours. The album also reached No.2 on the US Billboard 200 and became the highest-charting album of a solo South Korean artist in the history of Billboard charts.
Jimin enlisted to serve his mandatory military service in early December alongside his BTS band members. He is expected to finish his service in the summer of 2025.

]]>Jimin became the first South Korean solo artist to hit no. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100, surpassing Psy who reached No. 2 with his viral hit “Gangnam Style”. “Like Crazy” was released as one of the singles from Jimin’s debut solo album Face, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, becoming the highest-charting album by a K-pop solo in the US.
The success of “Like Crazy” can be credited to several versions that accompanied its release. In addition to the Korean and English version, Jimin also dropped the “Deep House” mix, the “UK Garage” mix, an instrumental version of this track.
“Like Crazy” eventually hit No. 1 with 254,000 song downloads and CD singles combined, 10 million streams, and 64,000 radio airplay audience impressions during its first week on the chart. It also debuted atop the Digital Song Sales chart.
As for the rest of the Billboard Hot 100 this week, Miley Cyrus dropped to No. 2 with “Flowers”, with Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” and SZA’s “Kill Bill” right behind her.

]]>This news comes shortly after Jimin discussed his plans for the future in a live stream on Weverse in early February. The BTS singer said he’s preparing a lot of different things for his fans and revealed that his solo album will most likely drop around March.
News is finally official, and FACE will hit the shelves on March 24 and here’s what Jimin’s official press release had to say about this record:
“[Delving] into Jimin’s story of fronting his true self and making a new leap forward as an artist. Through Face, Jimin will present his own musicality with distinct timbre and impeccable dance performance.”
Members of BTS are currently taking a temporary hiatus to complete their mandatory South Korean military service, and they’re focusing on solo projects in the meantime. J-hope and RM released their solo studio albums in late 2022, while Jin found success with his debut solo single “The Astronaut”, developed in collaboration with Coldplay and Kygo.

]]>BTS fans were head over heels after he surprised them with new song just in time for a New Year. Jimin shared the song with his followers on Twitter and thanked them for being patient.
“Everyone, you’ve waited a long time, right? I finally shared my own song with the public. This is a song for me, as it is a song for you. It’s the first time and it is still premature but please enjoy it. Thank you for waiting, ARMY,” wrote the K-pop sensation.
Jimin previously served as solo singer on two tracks released by BTS – Lie and Serendipity. Promise still technically counts as his first non-album solo single, and we can’t wait to see what else he has in store.
