]]> The American Music Awards are one of the most highly-anticipated music award shows of the year, but that might not be the case in 2023. The AMAs are facing a possible one-year hiatus after it was announced that the Billboard Music Awards would take their date.

Variety broke the news of the AMAs’ possible sabbatical after the BMAs moved to their date on November 19, 2023.  This November date has been traditionally reserved for the AMAs for about two decades now, but they’re now facing the possibility of moving to the May slot previously held by Billboard.

The AMAs’ parent company Dick Clark Productions just happens to be owned by Penske Media Corp—Billboard’s parent company—leading to a conflict of interest caused by the change of dates. It also didn’t help AMAs’ case that viewership has been steadily declining in recent years, and the word on the street is that the show was becoming stale, leading PMC to focus on BMAs instead.

Despite scheduling conflicts, a PMC spokeswoman claims that the hiatus is not official just yet, saying they have offers for both shows from networks and streamers.

The American Music Awards have been around since 1973, and the latest ceremony took place in November last year, when Taylor Swift won six awards to extend her record as the most-awarded artist in AMA history, with 40 wins overall.

]]> The American Music Awards returned to Los Angeles on Sunday night and it gave us another glitzy ceremony to remember. Taylor Swift was the night’s shiniest star with a total of seven wins, while the list of major winners also included Harry Styles and Beyoncé.

Swift came into the ceremony with a total of six nominations and managed to win all the awards she was competing for. In addition to being named artist of the year, she also won the trophy for the favorite music video with “All Too Well” and the favorite pop album with Red (Taylor’s Version).

Swift benefited from being nominated in both pop and country categories, and the list of her awards also included favorite female pop artist, favorite female country artist, and favorite country album. This brings her total of AMAs to 40, extending her record as the most-awarded artist in the show’s history.

The list of major winners at this year’s ceremony also included Harry Styles, Beyoncé, Bad Bunny, Kendrick Lamar, Morgan Wallen, and Wizkid, with two awards each. Dove Cameron was named the new artist of the year, while Elton John and Dua Lipa won the award for collaboration of the year with “Cold Heart”.

The 50th American Music Awards took place on November 20 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, with Wayne Brady serving as a host.

]]> The American Music Awards are always full of surprises and this year’s ceremony didn’t disappoint. After another record-breaking year, BTS managed to top the list of winners with three trophies, and Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion were right behind.

BTS came out victorious in the crowded artist of the year field, where they were competing against Ariana Grande, Drake, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd. As if that wasn’t enough, they also collected awards for the best pop duo or group and favorite pop song with “Butter”.

Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion also managed to walk away with three trophies each. In addition to winning the award for collaboration of the year with “Kiss Me More” featuring SZA, Doja collected two additional trophies in the R&B field. Stallion dominated the hip-hop categories and collected the award for the favorite trending song with “Body”.

Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, and Gabby Barrett were right behind, with three awards each. Olivia Rodrigo was named the new artist of the year, after topping the list of nominees with nods in seven different categories.

The American Music Awards took place on November 21st at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Cardi B made history as the first female rappers to host the ceremony since Queen Latifah in 1995.

]]> The 2020 American Music Awards nominations were just announced by Dua Lipa on Good Morning America and The Weeknd and Roddy Ricch are leading nominations.

The Weeknd, a two-time AMA winner, and rapper Roddy Ricch collected eight nominations this year including the night’s most prestigious award, Artist of the Year.

Also nominated for Artist of the Year are Justin Bieber, Post Malone, and Taylor Swift. The record for the most wins in the category is held by Swift who has five and she holds the most AMA wins with 29.

First-time nominee Megan Thee Stallion is nominated for five awards including New Artist of the Year and Collaboration of the Year, making her the most nominated female artist this year.

Bad Bunny, DaBaby, Doja Cat, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift are going into the night with four nominations.

The American Music Awards will take place live on November 22 from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

]]> Taylor Swift is no stranger to winning prestigious awards, but she took things to a whole new level during this year’s American Music Awards. After winning all the awards she was nominated for, the famous singer brought the total of her AMA victories to 29, setting a new record!

Swift scored big wins in five major categories last night, including artist of the year, favorite music video (“You Need to Calm Down”), favorite female artist – pop/rock, favorite album – pop/rock (Lover) and favorite artist – adult contemporary.

She also performed a medley of her biggest hits before collecting the honorary Artist of the Decade award, which included “The Man,” “Love Story,” “I Knew You Were Trouble,” “Blank Space,” “Lover,” and a special version of “Shake It Off” featuring Camila Cabello and Halsey.

The American Music Awards were held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on November 24th, with Ciara hosting for the first time. The list of major winners also included BTS, Khalid, Billie Eilish, and Carrie Underwood.

]]> The American Music Awards are one of the most highly-anticipated music award shows of the year, but that might not be the case in 2023. The AMAs are facing a possible one-year hiatus after it was announced that the Billboard Music Awards would take their date.

Variety broke the news of the AMAs’ possible sabbatical after the BMAs moved to their date on November 19, 2023.  This November date has been traditionally reserved for the AMAs for about two decades now, but they’re now facing the possibility of moving to the May slot previously held by Billboard.

The AMAs’ parent company Dick Clark Productions just happens to be owned by Penske Media Corp—Billboard’s parent company—leading to a conflict of interest caused by the change of dates. It also didn’t help AMAs’ case that viewership has been steadily declining in recent years, and the word on the street is that the show was becoming stale, leading PMC to focus on BMAs instead.

Despite scheduling conflicts, a PMC spokeswoman claims that the hiatus is not official just yet, saying they have offers for both shows from networks and streamers.

The American Music Awards have been around since 1973, and the latest ceremony took place in November last year, when Taylor Swift won six awards to extend her record as the most-awarded artist in AMA history, with 40 wins overall.

]]> The American Music Awards returned to Los Angeles on Sunday night and it gave us another glitzy ceremony to remember. Taylor Swift was the night’s shiniest star with a total of seven wins, while the list of major winners also included Harry Styles and Beyoncé.

Swift came into the ceremony with a total of six nominations and managed to win all the awards she was competing for. In addition to being named artist of the year, she also won the trophy for the favorite music video with “All Too Well” and the favorite pop album with Red (Taylor’s Version).

Swift benefited from being nominated in both pop and country categories, and the list of her awards also included favorite female pop artist, favorite female country artist, and favorite country album. This brings her total of AMAs to 40, extending her record as the most-awarded artist in the show’s history.

The list of major winners at this year’s ceremony also included Harry Styles, Beyoncé, Bad Bunny, Kendrick Lamar, Morgan Wallen, and Wizkid, with two awards each. Dove Cameron was named the new artist of the year, while Elton John and Dua Lipa won the award for collaboration of the year with “Cold Heart”.

The 50th American Music Awards took place on November 20 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, with Wayne Brady serving as a host.

]]> The American Music Awards are always full of surprises and this year’s ceremony didn’t disappoint. After another record-breaking year, BTS managed to top the list of winners with three trophies, and Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion were right behind.

BTS came out victorious in the crowded artist of the year field, where they were competing against Ariana Grande, Drake, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd. As if that wasn’t enough, they also collected awards for the best pop duo or group and favorite pop song with “Butter”.

Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion also managed to walk away with three trophies each. In addition to winning the award for collaboration of the year with “Kiss Me More” featuring SZA, Doja collected two additional trophies in the R&B field. Stallion dominated the hip-hop categories and collected the award for the favorite trending song with “Body”.

Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, and Gabby Barrett were right behind, with three awards each. Olivia Rodrigo was named the new artist of the year, after topping the list of nominees with nods in seven different categories.

The American Music Awards took place on November 21st at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Cardi B made history as the first female rappers to host the ceremony since Queen Latifah in 1995.

]]> Taylor Swift is no stranger to winning prestigious awards, but she took things to a whole new level during this year’s American Music Awards. After winning all the awards she was nominated for, the famous singer brought the total of her AMA victories to 29, setting a new record!

Swift scored big wins in five major categories last night, including artist of the year, favorite music video (“You Need to Calm Down”), favorite female artist – pop/rock, favorite album – pop/rock (Lover) and favorite artist – adult contemporary.

She also performed a medley of her biggest hits before collecting the honorary Artist of the Decade award, which included “The Man,” “Love Story,” “I Knew You Were Trouble,” “Blank Space,” “Lover,” and a special version of “Shake It Off” featuring Camila Cabello and Halsey.

The American Music Awards were held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on November 24th, with Ciara hosting for the first time. The list of major winners also included BTS, Khalid, Billie Eilish, and Carrie Underwood.
