The Killers are marking the 20th anniversary of their seminal record, Hot Fuss, this year. As part of the celebration, the rock group is heading to their hometown of Las Vegas for a residency that will see them playing the album in full for the first time.

The band will play eight shows at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace from August 14 through August 30. The tickets are going on sale for the general public on January 27.

The Killers released Hot Fuss on June 7, 2004, for British indie record label Lizard King Records. The album featured hit singles like “Mr. Brightside” and “Somebody Told Me”, and was met with positive reviews from the critics and audience. It remained at the top of the UK Albums charts for two weeks and peaked at No. 7 on the US Billboard 200. The record was also nominated for the Grammy Award in the Best Rock Album category.

Before they settle in Las Vegas for their Hot Fuss residency, The Killers plan to tour the UK and Ireland in June and July. The group previously planned to release their eighth studio album in 2023 but opted to scrap the record in favor of the greatest hits album Rebel Diamonds.

The Killers surprised their fans with a perfect gift for Christmas. The American rockers shared energizing new single through social media.

The track, which is untitled at the moment, sees the band getting back to basics with a guitar-heavy sound, banging drums, and a catchy chorus. According to first reactions, the song has all the makings of an instant classic.

The Killers only uploaded the song to their official social media accounts, and it currently remains unavailable on streaming services and other platforms.

The fans pointed out on The Killers’ official subreddit that the untitled single is most likely the track “We Did it in the Name of Love” that frontman Brandon Flowers and drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. mentioned during an interview with The Current earlier this year.

At the time, Flowers and Vannucci Jr. talked about how the band got together at an old studio in “the hills of Santa Cruz, California” and started making songs together. They said that one of them is “We Did it in the Name of Love” and shared that it has “a little bit of a spirit of Sisters of Mercy”.

The Killers recently scrapped the work on their eighth studio album after the band wasn’t satisfied with the “type of music” it contained. Instead, they released a compilation album, Rebel Diamonds, which contained their greatest hits as well as several new songs.

The Killers don’t even have to release any new material to hit no. 1 in the UK, and Rebel Diamonds is a case in point. The band’s latest greatest hits compilation easily hit No. 1 in the UK, becoming their eighth album to reach the top of the charts in this country.

Rebel Diamonds marks the second greatest hits compilation released by the Las Vegas rockers, following Direct Hits in 2013. It was released by Island Records on December 8 and coincides with the 20th anniversary of their debut album Hot Fuss from 2004.

Hot Fuss was The Killers’ first album to ever reach No. 1 in the UK, and they managed to replicate its success with every studio album they released in the years to come, including Sam’s Town (2006), Day & Age (2008), Battle Born (2012), Wonderful Wonderful (2017), Imploding the Mirage (2020) and Pressure Machine (2021).

The Killers are currently plotting their eighth studio album, but it will take a while before we get to hear it because they recently decided to scrap the whole thing.

“It just didn’t feel authentic. It felt like we were forcing something. We love synth music, it’s a part of our DNA and there’s been great contributions from us in that genre,” Brandon Flowers told The Sun.

In a recent interview with The Sun, The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers revealed why the band scrapped what would have been their eighth studio album. According to Flowers, the record “just didn’t feel authentic.”

Back in 2022, the band revealed plans to release a new studio album, a follow-up to 2021’s Pressure Machine. The project was scheduled to arrive at some point in 2023 and would see the band depart from their signature style and venture into synth-influenced sound.

However, The Killers only shared the album’s lead single, “Your Side of the Town,” which came out in August, before deciding to abandon the plans for the record. Now, Flowers decided to share more about that decision.

“It just didn’t feel authentic. It felt like we were forcing something,” Flowers told The Sun. “We love synth music, it’s a part of our DNA and there’s been great contributions from us in that genre. And man, we love New Order and Depeche Mode, so it’s not a slight. It just doesn’t feel right for us at the moment.”

Instead, The Killers opted to release a greatest hits album titled Rebel Diamonds. The release, which arrived on December 8, also contains “Your Side of Town” as well as previously unreleased singles “Boy” and “Spirit.”

The Killers gave us one of the defining songs of the 2000s with “Mr. Brightside”, and its popularity isn’t fading away. Two decades after its release, “Mr. Brightside” became the UK’s most streamed song in Spotify history.

The Killers’ smash hit has been making waves on Spotify for quite some time and broke the UK chart record in 2021 by spending 260 weeks in the Top 100 of the UK’s singles chart. That number rose to 382 weeks in the meantime, and “Mr. Brightside” is now officially the most streamed song of all time on UK Spotify.

While discussing the song’s legacy in an interview with The Rolling Stones in honor of its 15th anniversary in 2018, frontman Brandon Flowers admitted he was trying to channel his inner David Bowie, Iggy Pop, and Oasis on this track.

“There’s an anthemic quality in the pre-choruses, and we learned a lot about things like that from listening to Oasis… I think the anthemic quality is me trying to beat [Oasis’] ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ or ‘Where the Streets Have No Name,’” said Flowers.

“Mr. Brightside” was released as one of the singles from The Killers’ debut studio album Hot Fuss from 2004, and it’s widely regarded as one of the defining songs of the early 2000s.

Summer is slowly drawing to a close, but new candidates for the songs of the summer are still pouring in. From Miley Cyrus’ “Used To Be Young” to The Killers’ “Your Side of Town”, we’re bringing you ten brand-new tracks that defined this week.

This week marked a major comeback for two of our favorite former Disney stars – Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez. They both announced new songs last week and supported each other on social media before finally sharing them with the world on Friday.

Gomez delivered a club-ready girl power anthem with “Single Soon”, her first solo single of 2023. As for Cyrus, she opted for a completely different approach with a soaring ballad “Used To Be Young”, which sees her reflecting on the mistakes she made in her past.

The rest of our list of best songs of the week includes an interesting mix of different genres, ranging from indie rock to country. Zach Bryan made the cut with his recently released self-titled album, which produced A-list collaboration “I Remember Everything” feat. Kacey Musgraves.

Our list also includes new music from The Killers, Mitski, Victoria Monét, and Conan Gray, so get ready to add them to your playlist.

Miley Cyrus – Used To Be Young

Zach Bryan – I Remember Everything (feat. Kacey Musgraves)

Selena Gomez – Single Soon

The Killers – Your Side of Town

Mitski – Heaven

Victoria Monét – Alright

Conan Gray – Winner

YUNGBLUD – Hated

Blackpink – The Girls

Omar Apollo – Ice Slippin

American rockers The Killers decided to treat their fans with a new studio effort for the second year in a row. The band announced earlier this week that their new album Pressure Machine will arrive on August 13th. The new release will follow their 2020 album Imploding the Mirage.

As part of the announcement, the group unveiled the cover art for the album alongside a short teaser trailer.  The release will be available in several formats, including digital release, CD, and vinyl.

According to the official press release, The Killers started working on Pressure Machine shortly after releasing Imploding the Mirage. Being unable to embark on a tour to promote the record, the group used their free time to create new songs.

Frontman Brandon Flowers also revealed that the album was inspired by his hometown of Nephi, Utah and might be the band’s most personal offering to date.

“I discovered this grief that I hadn’t dealt with,” Flowers shared. “Many memories of my time in Nephi are tender. But the ones tied to fear or great sadness were emotionally charged. I’ve got more understanding now than when we started the band, and hopefully, I was able to do justice to these stories and these lives in this little town that I grew up in.”

Pressure Machine will also mark the return of founding guitarist Dave Keuning. He left the band in 2017 and wasn’t involved in the making of Imploding the Mirage. Keuning is expected to be involved with the group in full capacity moving forward.

The highly-anticipated collaboration between The Killers and legendary rocker Bruce Springsteen is finally here. Their joint effort is titled “Dustland” and it represents a reimagining of the band’s 2008 single “A Dustland Fairytale.”

The track sees the group’s frontman Brandon Flowers and Springsteen dividing verses before uniting their vocals for the powerful chorus. Hear it below.

Shortly after the song was released into the world, Flowers went on social media to explain how the collaboration came to be. According to Flowers, Springsteen reached out to him a while back via text message with the proposition to team up.

“Watching Glastonbury. You guys have become one hellacious live band, my brother. Love the gold suit. We gotta do Dustland one day. Bruce,” the text message read.

Flowers was initially skeptical about the text, thinking he is a subject of some prank. But after getting in touch with Springsteen’s son Evan, he was convinced the message was genuine.

Brandon Flowers admitted in the past that Springsteen is one of his biggest influences in music. The two crossed paths several times in the past, including Flower’s appearance during Springsteen’s headlining set at Pinkpop Festival, when they performed “Thunder Road” together.

The Killers are currently working on the follow-up to 2020’s Imploding the Mirage, which could see them reuniting with guitarist Dave Keuning. Springsteen, on the other hand, might also have new music up his sleeve according to his recent interviews and could debut it later this year.

The Killers have finally started sharing new music in 2020. The rockers presented their new single “Caution” on Thursday, giving us a taste of the band’s highly-anticipated sixth studio album, Imploding the Mirage.

As part of the release, the group also announced that the new album will be out on May 29th.

You can hear “Caution,” which features a contribution from former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham, below.

“Caution” had its debut on the latest edition of Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show, which featured The Killers’ frontman Brandon Flowers as a guest. Flowers used the opportunity to give listeners some background bits about the track.

“It’s sort of about having the wherewithal to listen to that angel on your shoulder, even if they’re telling you something that you don’t want to hear,” explained Flowers. “And I think for me with this song was a lot about leaving Las Vegas. I was having this sort of hunch or impression that that was something that I was supposed to do for my family. And it was hard for me because I’m an ambassador for — and so it was tough for me to leave, and I thought I was able to harness that energy, and there was a sort of a relief when it happened, and you kind of feel that the spirit in “Caution.”

Flowers also acknowledged that the band’s previous studio effort Wonderful Wonderful featured some experimentation, so “Caution” represented a chance for them to get back to their roots.

Their new album Imploding the Mirage is still a work in progress, but The Killers are already teasing their fans with a list of possible tracks for it.

The band has posted a list of songs on Twitter that seems to be a list of potential songs recorded for the album. The list contains 11 song names and the caption reads “As easy as 1 2 3.”

Similar to a former list posted in October, the list is not 100 percent clear. The former list contained various drawings next to the songs’ names with ambiguous meaning, while the new list divides the songs to 3 sections – A-LIST, B-LIST and C-LIST.

The A-LIST contains 10 names: “Imploding the Mirage,” “Dying Breed,” “My God,” “Blowback,” “Running Towards a Place,” “Fire in Bone,” “Caution,” “When the Dreams Run Dry,” “My Own Souls Warming” and “Lightning Fields.”

The B-LIST contains only one song: “Man and Woman Enough,” and the C-LIST is mysteriously empty.

The album is due to be released in the spring of 2020 and will be followed by a UK and Ireland tour. This will be the band’s 6th album.
