The wait for Rihanna’s new album has been so long that even her most passionate fans stopped counting the years, but could we finally get it in 2024? Rihanna dropped some hints about new music in a recent interview and revealed she has “a lot of visual ideas” for her next project.

Rihanna also said she has a lot of “random ideas, quirky ideas, things that have nothing to do with me at all” and described her next album as somewhat of a rebirth. It’s been years since Rihanna toured the world with her last album Anti, but can we expect her to hit the road anytime soon? The R&B superstar has been teasing new music for quite some time, and she recently revealed she’ll go back to performing once she has a new album to tour with.

Rihanna recently set down with Entertainment Tonight to discuss her latest Fenty collaboration but also revealed that she has new music and a potential tour on the way.

“I feel I want to do a tour when there’s new music. We already know what that’s gonna be, with the songs that I’ve performed on my last tour… I feel like it’s only fair that my fans get what they’ve been waiting on, which is new music. After that, lets just like, blow everything up,” said Rihanna.

Rihanna took a lengthy break from music to focus on her career in the fashion and beauty industry following the release of her 2016 album Anti. Despite not releasing a new album in years, Rihanna did a great job headlining the Super Bowl LVII halftime show and scored an Academy Award for best original song for “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Most songwriters would immediately jump on the opportunity for a superstar like Rihanna to record one of their songs. But not English singer/songwriter Jess Glynne.

In a recent interview with Daily Mail, Glynne spoke about her visit to Los Angeles, California, in early 2022 and a meeting she had with Jay Brown, co-founder of music and entertainment powerhouse Roc Nation. During the meeting, Brown told her that he really liked her song “Promise Me”, which she penned alongside producer Greg Kurstin, but wanted Rihanna to record it.

“I said, ‘No, you’re not sending it to Rihanna.’ I mean, it was the biggest compliment, but I was, ‘It’s my song, and I’m an artist, too,’” Glynne shared with the media outlet.

It turned out that Glynne’s refusal to give up her song didn’t have any effect on her relationship with Brown. Shortly after, the 34-year-old singer ended up signing a record deal with Roc Nation and is set to release her third studio album at some point in 2024.

Jess Glynne already shared three singles from the upcoming studio effort: “Silly Me”, “What Do You Do?”, and “Friend of Mine”. Her previous two albums, 2015’s I Cry When I Laugh and 2018’s Always In Between, both topped the UK Charts.

It’s been years since the release of Rihanna’s last album, but she doesn’t even have to drop new music to break records. The R&B icon officially became the first female artist to have 10 songs reach one billion streams in the history of this streaming platform.

Spotify recently confirmed the news about Rihanna’s new milestone on social media, and the singer was quick to react. She reposted the news on her Instagram, and captioned the photo with words, “Bad Gal billi… wit no new album… lemme talk my s—t!”

Rihanna hasn’t dropped a new studio album since 2016 when she made quite a splash with Anti. She returned to music in small doses and gave us several new songs along the way. She recorded two tracks for the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, including “Lift Me Up”, which received an Academy Award nomination for best original song.

Rihanna’s music experienced a huge surge in popularity following her Super Bowl performance earlier this year. The list of her ten songs in Spotify’s billion-streams club includes “Diamonds”, “We Found Love” ft. Calvin Harris, “Love on the Brain”, “Stay” ft. Mikky Ekko, “This Is What You Came For” ft. Calvin Harris, “Needed Me”, “Four Five Seconds” ft. Kanye West & Paul McCartney, “Work” ft. Drake, “Umbrella” ft. Jay-Z, and “Love the Way You Lie” ft. Eminem.

Rihanna created a lot of buzz with her performance at the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show, and it turns out she set a major record along the way. According to a recent Nielsen report, Rihanna’s halftime show was the most-watch performance at this event of all time.

Nielsen released revised numbers of Super Bowl LVII viewership upon further review, and conclude that Rihanna’s performance was seen by 121 million people across TV and digital platforms, and not 118.7 million as initially reported.

Rihanna took the Super Bowl stage at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on February 12, without any guest stars. She performed a medley of her biggest hits, including “Work”, “Umbrella”, “Diamonds”, and “We Found Love”, and confirmed her second pregnancy during the show.

Rihanna discussed her Super Bowl performance in the cover story with British Vogue and said she just wanted to have fun and put on a show for people who’ve been supporting her for years.

“I haven’t done this in a minute and I’m doing this for the people that love my music, the people that have supported me and gotten me to this place in my career… It’s me really just getting back onstage – a crazy stage to be back on – but I’m really doing this for my fans,” she explained.

The list of this year’s Oscar nominees included the likes of Rihanna and Lady Gaga, but they didn’t pick up any trophies by the end of the night. The best original song Oscar at this year’s Academy Awards went to “Naatu Naatu”—a viral hit from the record-breaking Indian film RRR.

“Naatu Naatu” came into this year’s Oscars as the clear front-runner, after winning the best original song at several other shows, including the Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice Awards. M. M. Keeravani picked up the trophy for writing the music, while Chandrabosedouble was awarded for his work on the lyrics.

“Naatu Naatu” defeated a pretty tough competition at this year’s Oscars, where the list of nominees also included Diane Warren’s “Applause” from Tell It Like a Woman, Lady Gaga’s “Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick, Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and “This Is a Life” from Everything Everywhere All at Once, by Ryan Lott, David Byrne, and Mitski.

All five songs were performed during the ceremony, with Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj taking the stage to perform “Naatu Naatu”. Even Lady Gaga took the stage, even though it was previously reported she won’t be able to prepare the musical number. Lenny Kravitz was also among the performers, and he delivered an emotional rendition of “Calling All Angels” during the annual “In Memoriam” tribute.

The 95th Academy Awards took place on March 12 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, and Everything Everywhere All at Once was the biggest winner of the night with seven trophies.

Rihanna delivered her first live performance in five years at Super Bowl LVII and made us feel like she hasn’t been gone for a single day! Her halftime show was as spectacular as it gets, and she managed to fit some of her biggest hits into a thrilling 13-minute performance.

Rihanna was up to quite a challenge when she was picked as a halftime show performer, and she was very open about her struggle to celebrate her entire catalog in just 13 minutes. She put together 39 versions of the setlist, and eventually picked 12 songs that took us down memory lane and spanned her entire career.

Rihanna kicked things off with “B—h Better Have My Money”, a somewhat ironic choice since the halftime show performers never get paid. She didn’t rely on special guests to make her performance pop – even though many expected she’d bring out Jay-Z or Drake – and surprised us by announcing her second pregnancy instead.

The list of songs she performed included such songs as “Only Girl in the World”, “We Found Love”, “Rude Boy”, and “Work” before she finished things off with two of her biggest smash-hits – “Umbrella” and “Diamonds”.

Super Bowl LVII took place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on February 12, and Chris Stapleton was in charge of performing the national anthem.

After a lot of anticipation, the nominations for the upcoming Academy Awards are in, and the best original song category is pretty crowded. The list of contenders for this prestigious award includes several A-list artists, starting with Rihanna and Lady Gaga.

Rihanna scored her very first Oscar nomination with “Lift Me Up”, the lead single from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which she co-wrote alongside the Nigerian singer Tems, the director Ryan Coogler, and composer Ludwig Göransson.

Lady Gaga owes her latest Oscar nomination to “Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick, which she co-wrote with Michael Tucker. She previously won an Oscar for “Shallow” from A Star is Born, in addition to receiving a nomination for “Til It Happens to You” from The Hunting Ground.

The list of nominees for the best original song also includes “Applause” from Tell It Like a Woman, “This is a Life” from Everything Everywhere All At Once, and “Naatu Naatu” from RRR. The last song is the main front-runner at this year’s Oscars after winning a Golden Globe and several more awards in the same category.

The 95th Academy Awards will take place on March 12 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California with Jimmy Kimmel serving as the host. The list of performers is yet to be announced, but nominated songs are usually performed live during the ceremony.

The list of 82 tracks eligible for the best original song at the upcoming Academy Awards is in and it includes some of the leading recording artists working today. Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Taylor Swift are among the artists who made the cut, while Doja Cat is surprisingly not included on the list.

The list of most talked-about songs from the year’s popular soundtracks includes Lady Gaga’s “Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick, Rhianna’s “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Billie Eilish and Finneas’ “Nobody Like U” from Turning Red, and Taylor Swift’s “Carolina” from Where the Crawdads Sing.

One song that shockingly didn’t make the cut? Doja Cat’s “Vegas” from Elvis. This viral hit was apparently deemed ineligible because it interpolates Elvis Presley’s ’50s classic “Hound Dog”, thus breaking Academy’s strict rules.

Songs by Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and Lady Gaga have been nominated for Golden Globe earlier this year, together with two more tracks included on Oscar’s list—”Ciao Papa” from Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio and “Naatu Naatu” from the Indian smash hit RRR.

The list of contenders also includes the likes of Selena Gomez, the Weeknd, Rihanna, Shawn Mendes, and Brandi Carlile, and we’ll see if any of them manage to make the cut when the 15-title song shortlist is announced on December 21.

As Billboard Hot 100 remains pretty much unchangeable for the past few weeks, we’re all craving some brand-new music to add to our Spotify playlist. Luckily, this past week has given us countless pretty epic new tracks, and we’re bringing you some of the very best.

From Bruce Springsteen to Louis Tomlinson and Rauw Alejandro, several major artists dropped new albums this Friday, giving us amazing songs along the way. Out of the three, Rauw Alejandro’s Saturno seems to be making the most buzz, and he promoted its release by dropping a music video for “Lejos del Cielo”.

Taylor Swift and Rihanna are two artists everyone’s been talking about recently, and if you think we’re going to stop – think again! Rihanna dropped another song from the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack called “Born Again”, while Swift shared several remixes of her latest single “Anti-Hero”, including one with Jack Antonoff’s Bleachers.

From Stomrzy and Rod Wave to Hailee Steinfeld and Anderson .Paak, the list of artists behind our favorite songs of the week is pretty impressive, so stick around to give them a listen.

Rihanna – “Born Again”

Stormzy – “Firebabe”

Rauw Alejandro – “Lejos Del Cielo”

Bruce Springsteen – “Only the Strong Survive”

Sabrina Carpenter – “Nonsense”

Taylor Swift – “Anti-Hero (feat. Bleachers)”

Hailee Steinfeld ft. Anderson .Paak – “Coast”

Kygo, Sam Feldt – “How Many Tears ft. Emily Warren”

Rod Wave – “Break My Heart”

Fever Ray – “Carbon Dioxide”
