]]>Grande teased her collaboration with Carey by sharing a photo of the two of them on social media and described the fellow singer as the queen of her heart and a lifelong inspiration.
“There truly are no words that suffice. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this dream come true and for sprinkling your brilliance and magic on my little song, Mariah Carey. It means more to me than I could ever possibly articulate,” wrote Grande on Instagram.
This isn’t the first collaboration between the two vocal powerhouses. Grande previously hopped on the remix of Carey’s Christmas song “Oh Santa!” in 2020 alongside Jennifer Hudson and went on to make a cameo at one of Carey’s Christmas shows in New York.
“Yes, And?” was released in early January, as the lead single from Grande’s upcoming album Eternal Sunshine. It hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 following its release, becoming Grande’s sixth No.1 debut and eighth chart-topping single overall.

]]>John Sykes, chairman of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, announced this year’s nominees in a press release and praised them for creating “their own sounds that have impacted generations and influenced countless others that have followed in their footsteps.”
Pop goddess Cher, the R&B superstar Mariah Carey, and the British band Oasis made the cut this year, along with the late Irish singer Sinéad O’Connor, nine-time Grammy winner Mary J. Blige, and the rock sensation Lenny Kravitz.
Ten of 15 nominees this year are in the running for the first time, but some of them are no strangers to being nominated, including A Tribe Called Quest and Dave Matthews Band. Ozzy Osbourne had even been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006 with his band Black Sabbath, but he’s in the running again as an individual artist.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will announce the list of inductees in April, while the induction ceremony will take place in Cleveland this fall.

]]>The Celebration of Mimi will take place at Park MGM’s Dolby Live venue from April 12-27, as an homage to Carey’s hit album The Emancipation of Mimi, set to celebrate its 20th anniversary next year. It will feature fan favorites from this album, along with other big hits from Carey’s unparalleled illustrious career.
The Emancipation of Mimi came out in 2005, and it’s often hailed as Carey’s comeback album. It produced one of her biggest hits, “We Belong Together”, which spent 14 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Carey reflected on the album’s legacy in an interview with Billboard in 2020 and said she believes it introduced many new people to her music.
“I look at it as a very important time in my career, a very significant time for me as an artist. It was a sense of feeling triumphant when it was as successful as it was… So I would just love for people to take away the music from that album. I hope that it makes people feel good,” she told Billboard.

]]>Carey’s beloved Christmas tune returned to the top of the Hot 100 for its fifth consecutive holiday season just last week, and its domination isn’t over just yet. With 48.4 million streams, 31.7 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 7,000 downloads, “All I Want for Christmas” returned to No. 1 for its 14th non-consecutive time.
By doing so, this song helped Carey make history as the only artist with three songs to spend at least 14 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart. She previously achieved this success with “One Sweet Day” ft. Boyz II Men and her solo single “We Belong Together” from 2005.
“All I Want for Christmas” leads the holiday takeover on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week. Jack Harlow’s “Lovin On Me” is the only non-holiday title to make it to the top ten this week at no. 6, behind Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”, Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock”, Wham!’s “Last Christmas”, and Burl Ives’ “A Holly Jolly Christmas”.

]]>With 42.2 million streams, 26.1 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 8,000 downloads, “All I Want for Christmas” easily reclaimed the No. 1 spot. The recently released “Festive Lambs Edition” music video boosted its popularity and helped it return atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
This holiday classic now spent five holiday seasons at No. 1, and its sixth nonconsecutive ascent to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 breaks the record previously held by Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” and Harry Styles’ “As It Was”.
This marks the 13th non-consecutive week that “All I Want for Christmas” spent at No. 1, and this number is quite historic. Carey is currently the only act apart from Boyz II Men with three songs to spend 13 or more weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Carey briefly vacated the No. 1 spot this holiday season after Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” experienced a surprising renaissance. This song spent the previous two weeks at No. 1 after climbing atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart 65 years following its release.

Carey owes her reputation as the Queen of Christmas to her timeless holiday hit “All I Want For Christmas is You”. This song was released all the way back in 1994, as a part of her first holiday album Merry Christmas, but its popularity endured for the decades to come.
After becoming a true pop culture staple, “All I Want For Christmas is You” finally hit No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 for the first time in history in 2019, setting the record for the longest trip to No. 1. We’ve seen it top the chart every holiday season since, and it currently holds the record for the longest-running holiday song at No. 1, with nine weeks atop the Hot 100 chart.

]]>It took 25 years for “All I Want For Christmas” to top the chart for the first time in 2019 and we’ve seen it return to No. 1 every holiday season since then. It logged its 11th week atop the Hot 100, setting a record for the longest span atop the Hot 100 with three years and one week.
This also marks Carey’s record-extending 90th week atop the Billboard Hot 100 and the singer said she was “jumping up and down in the snow” from excitement after receiving the news. She’s followed by Rihanna with 60 weeks and The Beatles with 59 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 since the chart’s inception in 1958.
As for the rest of Hot 100 for this week, it’s mostly filled with holiday classics, from Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” to Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock”. Wham!’s “Last Christmas” also reached a new high this holiday season and entered the top five for the first time since its release in 1984.

This is not an anomaly on the Billboard Hot 100 this week since three more holiday classics made it to the top 10: Dean Martin’s “Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow”, Wham!’s “Last Christmas” and Chuck Berry’s “Run Rudolph Run”.
“All I Want for Christmas Is You” logged its fifth week atop the Billboard Hot 100, which makes it the longest-running holiday no. 1 hit in the history of this chart. It also became the first song at no. 1 in three distinct years since it’s set to enter 2021 on the top spot.
In addition to leading the Billboard Hot 100 chart, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” also made it to no. 1 on Billboard’s global charts, both including and excluding the U.S.
