]]>Ariana Grande’s Eternal Sunshine created more buzz than any other new album this week, and it was truly worth the wait. She gave us 13 pretty amazing new songs, and the second single “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)” certainly deserves a spot on your playlist.
Many of our favorite female artists also celebrated International Women’s Day by sharing their new albums with the world. Norah Jones gave us another great collection of songs with Visions, while Kim Gordon dropped her first solo album in five years, The Collective.
This week has also been pretty amazing for our favorite indie and rock bands. Bleachers knocked it out of the park with their self-titled new album, while both The Black Keys and Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds gave us a taste of their new music with singles “White God” and “This is Nowhere”.
Laufey, Girl in Red, The Marías, and FLO also made it to our list this week, so check it out and find your next favorite song.

]]>Beyoncé broke the internet shortly after this year’s Super Bowl by announcing the release of her next studio album Renaissance Act II. Her next LP will be country-themed, and the lead single “Texas Hold ‘Em” proves that this genre fits her like a glove.
Dua Lipa is also busy teasing the release of her next album, and she finally dropped her long-awaited new single “Training Season”. Vampire Weekend are gearing up for the release of their new LP Only God Was Above Us, and they gave us a taste of things to come with “Capricorn”.
Our list for this week doesn’t feature too many collaborations, but the ones that made the cut are as good as it gets. Mariah Carey hopped on the remix of Ariana Grande’s “Yes, And?”, while Karol G joined forces with Tiësto for the electrifying new song “Contigo”.
Check out our list in full and get ready to discover new songs by Caroline Polachek, Pearl Jam, IDLES, Kim Gordon, and Tierra Whack.

]]>The Collective will be released on March 8 via Matador, and it marks Gordon’s first solo album in five years. She joined forces with producers Justin Raisen and Anthony Paul Lopez to bring this album to life, and gave us a taste of things to come with the new song “Bye Bye”.
Clara Balzary directed the music video for “Bye Bye”, which stars the singer’s daughter Coco Gordon Moore. She plays a carefree teen trying to run away from home and finds shelter at a run-down motel, where she changes her clothes and cuts her hair, but her mom eventually shows up to pick her up.
The Collective will mark Gordon’s first solo album since No Home Record in 2019, but it’s not the only project she’s been working on since Sonic Youth’s split. She also released music with bands Body/Head and Glitterbust, in addition to dropping a collaborative album The Issue with Loren Connors in 2022.

]]>The track feels like a throwback to Sonic Youth’s noisy efforts from the ’90s, but that isn’t a bad thing at all. Gordon managed to incorporate the nostalgia with just enough modern sound and different ideas, to make the song feel fresh and exciting. It might also be a good indication of what Gordon’s solo record should be all about.
“Air BnB” came with a music video that is both weird and great at the same time. While the song is playing in the background, the video features a text written on a black background. It tells a story of what video would look like if the budget allowed it. This includes scenes in a fancy Air BnB in Los Angeles, backyard tent, and much more.
Listen to the song and check out the video below.
Kim Gordon’s No Home Record, which was produced by Justin Raisen is scheduled for release on October 11th. Gordon previously shared a pair of singles from the 9-track record including “Murdered Out,” and “Sketch Artist.”

]]>The talented musician is formerly a member of the post-rock group, Sonic Youth. Following her time with the group, Gordon formed a new band with Ikue Mori and Bill Nace from DNA. The band was called Body/Head. Now, she has taken the bold step to go solo, for the first time ever.
“Why a solo record? And why now? I don’t know, but it wouldn’t have happened without the persistence of Justin Raisen,” she posed. “Living in LA the last few years it feels like home, but the transience of the place makes it feel sometimes like no home.”
The record will feature Gordon’s brand new single, “Sketch Artist”, which you can listen to here:
The track is dark, gritty and experimental. The only element that ties the track to the musician’s Sonic Youth days is her voice.
Gordon has also released the tracklist for her new album, which you can view here:
‘Sketch Artist’
‘Air BnB’
‘Paprika Pony’
‘Murdered Out’
‘Don’t Play It’
‘Cookie Butter’
‘Hungry Baby’
‘Earthquake’
‘Get Yr Life Back’
No Home Record will be released via Matador on October 11.
