]]>Kesha teased this song by sharing a photo that shows her holding a Gag Order vinyl record on social media. The photo was accompanied by a lengthy caption, where she explained that she wanted this song to sonically, lyrically, and emotionally reflect the overwhelming dichotomy of different emotions, oscillating between pain, chaos, fear, and love.
“The world is so overwhelming sometimes. It requires a moment of surrender. The ludicrosity of life can make you crazy. If anything, IF ANYTHING, can save us, I believe only love can. This song is a desperate and angry prayer. A call to the light when all feels lost,” she wrote on Instagram.
“Only Love Can Save Us Now” was released as the latest single from Kesha’s upcoming fifth studio album, and it was preceded by the dual singles “Eat the Acid” and “Fine Line”. Gag Order will hit the shelves on May 19, and Kesha said it will explore much darker themes than her previous records, such as emotional exploitation and the battle for the truth.

]]>Most of the songs on our list hail from newly released albums, covering many different genres. The National’s First Two Pages of Frankenstein is our favorite new release, and each song on this LP deserves a mention, but none of them created more buzz than “The Alcott” featuring Taylor Swift.
Jack Harlow’s Jackman came out of nowhere—quite literarily—since the rapper announced its release just a few days before dropping ten new songs, including “Common Ground”. Labrinth and Diplo also released new albums this week and gave us a few amazing collaborations along the way.
Bebe Rexha’s latest album Bebe is also a collaboration-heavy record featuring several music legends, starting with the country icon Dolly Parton, featured on her new single “Seasons”.
Our list this week also includes new songs from Kesha, PJ Harvey, Niall Horan, and Jessie Ware, so check it out and choose your favorite.

]]>Gag Order was written over the course of the past few years, and it was inspired by both the anxiety and spiritual awakening that Kesha faced in the wake of the pandemic. Writing new music allowed her to explore a wide range of different emotions, from pain and anger to grief and regret.
Kesha teased her upcoming album in a manifesto published by Nylon and expressed hope that her new music will connect with those who need it the most.
“I have given voice to the pain. I finally acknowledged it and let it dissolve into being a piece of me instead of my enemy. Every day is its own journey. I’m not fixed and I may never be. Or maybe there is nothing to fix. But I want people to know they aren’t alone in their head,” she explained.
Gag Order will hit the shelves on May 19, and Kesha will give us a taste of things to come with new singles “Eat the Acid” and “Fine Line”, set to be released on April 28.
