]]>“Too Sweet” managed to reach to top of the summit after attracting 35.6 million streams, 14.1 million radio airplay audience impressions, and selling 6,000 copies during its latest week on the chart. It initially debuted at No. 5 following its release on March 22, becoming his second song to reach the top ten following his breakout hit “Take Me to Church”.
“Too Sweet” has been slowly climbing up the Billboard Hot 100 chart, but it already hit No. 1 in several other countries in the meantime. It became Hozier’s first chart-topping single in the UK and also climbed to No. 1 in Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland.
Hozier, who’s currently touring the world with his latest album Unreal Unearth, thanked fans for the outpouring of love he received since releasing “Too Sweet”.
“I’ve been both thrilled and taken massively by surprise by such a staggering reaction. It means the world that you’re enjoying this song so much. Thank you all so much,” he said in a video on Instagram.

]]>No album this week created more commotion than Taylor Swift’s Tortured Poets and its companion piece The Anthology. She’s given us 16 new songs on the standard edition and 31 in total, but “So Long, London” is definitely her strongest new release.
This Friday was pretty slow for new releases because most artists wanted to avoid competing with Swift. That didn’t stop Pearl Jam from sharing their long-awaited album Dark Matter, which produced several amazing songs, including “Wreckage”.
The lack of major releases helped our favorite indie and international artists shine, and make it to our list of the best new songs of the week. Hozier’s “Why Would You Be Loved” is definitely worth listening to on repeat, and so are the latest singles by Rachel Chinouriri, Debbii Dawson, Kings of Leon, Kate Nash, and more.

]]>“Too Sweet” hit the shelves on March 22, as one of the four songs on Hozier’s new EP Unheard. According to the singer’s statement, this body of work consists of songs “that might’ve made it to the circles of gluttony, limbo, violence, and the outward ‘ascent’… but could not for different reasons,” referring to his latest studio album Unreal Unearth, which drew inspiration from Dante’s Inferno.
“Too Sweet” managed to attract 28.8 million streams, 268,000 in airplay audience, and 4,000 in sales during its first week on the chart, debuting at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It became his second top-ten song on the Hot 100 nearly a decade after his breakout hit “Take Me to Church”, which peaked at No. 2 in 2014.
As for the rest of the Billboard Hot 100 for this week, Future and Metro Boomin hit No. 1 with their latest collaboration “Like That” ft. Kendrick Lamar. Five songs from their album We Don’t Trust You made it to the top ten, including “Type S–T” ft. Travis Scott and Playboi Carti at No. 2.

]]>Some of the week’s best new songs hail from newly released albums, starting with Hozier’s Unreal Unearth. Several of the songs from this LP were previously released as singles or featured on his EP Eat You Young, but the album itself gave us several amazing new songs, including “Damage Gets Done” ft. Brandi Carlile.
This week also marked the release of Reneé Rapp’s debut studio album Snow Angel, accompanied by the music video for “Pretty Girls”. Jon Batiste’s new album also made it to our list, and “Uneasy” ft. Lil Wayne is one of its most notable standouts.
When it comes to the viral hits for this week, Usher’s “Boyfriend” certainly created the most buzz online—mostly thanks to its Las Vegas-set music video starring Keke Palmer.

]]>It’s been a decade since Hozier broke into the scene with his soul-stirring smash hit “Take Me To Church”. Its chart-topping success was difficult to repeat for an artist who seemed more concerned with creating a body of work with an emotional and philosophical depth than recording radio hits, and Unreal Earth carried him in the same direction.
Hozier’s EP Eat Your Young served as an interlude for his third studio album, and introduced us to its first two singles “Eat Your Young” and “All Things End”. The entire album clocks at 62 minutes and features 16 tracks, but you never want it to stop because they offer a perfect balance between stripped-back tunes that Hozier is best known for and up-tempo folk-pop and indie-rock songs, which see him toying with new sounds.
Hozier wrote most of Unreal Earth during the COVID-19 pandemic and themed it around the idea of the nine circles of Hell from Dante’s Inferno. His poetic lyricism seeps through in every song, and its roots in classic literature are evident from the first two tracks “De Selby (Part 1/2)”, inspired by Flann O’Brien’s The Third Policeman.
Unreal Earth doesn’t lack piano ballads, but he also impressed us with several high-energy songs, starting with “De Selby (Part 2)”. His Brandi Carlile collaboration “Damage Gets Done” continues this trend, and so does Afrobeat-inspired “Anything But”.
Hozier managed to push his music to thrilling new spaces on Unreal Earth, giving us another gem in his discography. His vocals are stronger than ever, but the poetic lyrics are the album’s shining light, exploring a dark emotional world, without ever feeling too heavy.

Hozier gave us some amazing new music with his EP Eat Your Young earlier this year, but this record only served as an intro for his highly-anticipated third studio album Unreal Unearth.
Following the Grammy-winning success of We Are, Jon Batiste is coming back with World Music Radio, which will feature contributions from Lana Del Rey, Lil Wayne, NewJeans, and JID.
Reneé Rapp made a shocking decision to leave the HBO Max comedy series The S-x Lives of College Girls to focus on touring, and all eyes are now on her debut studio album Snow Angel.
After using the power of TikTok to put her music on the map, Ashnikko will finally release her debut studio album this month. She’s given us a taste of things to come with the singles “You Make Me Sick!”, “Worms”, and “Weedkiller”.
