]]>Halsey dropped hints about new music in a recent photo dump on Instagram, and captioned the series of recent photos by writing, “Not pictured: me splitting myself in two every day so that I can give you my deepest wounds (and a handful of perfect joys) for the 5th time in 10 years.”
This isn’t the first time Halsey revealed she’s working on her fifth studio album. She left Capitol Records and joined Columbia Records earlier this year, and revealed she’s been working on some of her “favorite stuff [she’s] ever conjured” during this shift. She also said that her next album will feature some of her best songwriting and have no strict genre parameters.
Halsey’s latest studio album If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power came out in 2021, and produced singles “I Am Not a Woman, I’m a God”, “You Asked for This”, and “Lilith”. Earlier this year, she recorded a remix of “Lilith” with the BTS singer Suga for Diablo IV soundtrack.

]]>Halsey recently took to social media to answer several fan questions, and here’s what she had to say after a fan asked her what her next album is going to sound like:
“As of right now I’m approaching it kinda how I approached Manic. No strict genre parameters or anything. Just making what feels good and what hits home definitely some of my best songwriting. a lot of life has happened to me since I wrote IICHLIWP [If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power],” she wrote on Twitter.
Halsey’s last album If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power came out in August 2021, and she used it to explore a wide range of different genres, from alternative rock to grunge pop. She’s been on quite a journey since its release, and her next album will be the first released by Columbia Records, after she parted ways with her long-term label Capitol Records earlier this year.

]]>Halsey announced her departure from Capitol back in April, and this news was quite a shocker for her fans since he’s been with the label for an entire decade. She signed with their Astralwerks imprint in 2013 and released all four of her albums through either Astralwerks or Capitol.
Halsey addressed her exit in a Tumblr post about a month ago and thanked her fans for their patience and faith, adding it will all pay off in the long run.
“This feels like my debut all over again, in some ways. Your love and support have carried me through a time where I thought maybe I only had a few albums left in me, but I know now that there are so many more than I could have ever dreamed,” she wrote on Tumblr.
Halsey also revealed she continued writing new music even after leaving Capitol, saying she’s “working on some of my favorite stuff I’ve ever conjured.” We’re still waiting for her new material, but she recently surprised us with a new version of “Lilith” ft. Suga from the video game Diablo IV.

]]>“Lilith” was previously featured in a trailer for Diablo IV, and Halsey and Suga have been teasing its release for quite some time. The official music video eventually coincided with the game’s release on June 5, and it sees the duo embrace the dark and gritty aesthetic of this highly-anticipated video game.
“Lilith” was originally released as one of the songs from Halsey’s studio album If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, and she was thrilled to team up with Suga for the new version.
“Having spent countless hours in Sanctuary with my family, I’m here as both a fan and a collaborator. Plus, I’ve always wanted to do a concept with Suga with this type of dark mythology. Hopefully, fans of Diablo, Suga, and myself will love Lilith’s embrace,” said Halsey in a statement.
This isn’t the first collaboration between the duo. Halsey joined forces with BTS on their global hit “Boy with Luv” and later tapped Suga to record a verse for “Suga’s Interlude” from her third studio album Manic.
