]]>Greta Van Fleet recently set down with Billboard to discuss their plans for the future, starting with the release of their album Starcatcher on July 21. With this record, they wanted to “revert back to rock ‘n’ roll, and what does this [genre] truly mean for our generation.”
They already gave us a taste of things to come with several singles, including “Meeting the Master”, “The Falling Sky”, “Sacred the Thread”, and “Farewell for Now”. When asked to pick their favorite, the drummer Danny Wagner said it’s pretty difficult to narrow it down.
“Because of how vast their sounds and meanings are… I have favorites to play, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it was my favorite to write or listen to in any sense,” he explained.
In terms of their future plans, he also said they’re always moving on to the next thing, adding they’re about to start working on their next album. It will probably take a while before they hit the studio since they’re also getting ready to embark on a world tour, set to kick off in Nashville, Tennessee on July 24.

]]>Ed Sheeran’s Subtract was the most anticipated new release of the week, and it lived up to the hype. This record features some of the most harrowing and brutally honest songs of his career, and we picked “Salt Water” as our favorite.
If pop music doesn’t do it for you, and you prefer a stronger sound, our list won’t leave you disappointed. We also made sure to include new releases by several rock and metal bands, including Bring Me the Horizon and Greta Van Fleet, in addition to The Hives’ comeback song “Bogus Operandi”.
You’ll also find everything from EDM bangers to hip-hop collaborations on our list, so stick around and discover new songs by Marshmello, NBA Youngboy, Lil Baby, and many more.

]]>Greta Van Fleet announced the release of their third studio album on social media and revealed it will hit the shelves on July 21. The band’s drummer Danny Wagner said they wanted to build a universe with this record, introducing us to new characters, ideas, and motifs.
The band gave us a taste of things to come with the lead single “Meeting the Master”, and here’s what they said about their new song in a joint statement:
“’Meeting the Master’ peers into an esoteric world heeded by the word of a wise teacher. Sung in the voice of a devout believer, and eventual group exclamation, the song details the love these fervent followers have for their teacher and their firm belief in his vision.”
Starcatcher will mark Greta Van Fleet’s first studio album since The Battle at Garden’s Gate, which debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 chart. It will most likely feature some of the new songs they played during recent live shows, including “The Falling Sky”, “Indigo Streak”, “Sacred the Thread”, and “Farewell for Now”.

]]>The band’s frontman Josh Kiszka recently discussed future plans with Kerrang and revealed what they have in store for their next studio album.
“It’s intended to be a full release, a full album. For about two months in the heart of the summer of this year, we really poured everything into the writing and recording, and we’re hoping that sometime earlier next year we’ll be able to put it out,” said Kiszka.
Anthem of the Peaceful Army came out in 2018 and debuted at no. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart. Before sharing their first album with the world, Greta Van Fleet dropped two EPs – Black Smoke Rising and From the Fires, which won a Grammy for the best rock album at this year’s ceremony.

]]>Sam and Jake Kiszka set down with NME before their recent concert at the Mad Cool Festival in Madrid and shared some pretty exciting news about their sophomore album.
“There’s a little evolution, I suppose, with everything. We’re working on something quite different, I suppose. It’s interesting because we never know exactly what an album’s gonna look like; it can only be so premeditated. But, as it sort of unfolds now, it’s sort of an example of where we are musically right now,” said guitarist Jake Kiszka.
Greta Van Fleet bassist Sam Kiszka promised they’ll be “incorporating more sounds, more tones, more styles of music” on their new album and described it as the next step in their evolution. The album still doesn’t have a title or a release date, but they’ve previously promised it will be out by the end of the year.
