Scottish indie rockers Franz Ferdinand made an epic comeback with The Human Fear, their first album in seven years, which produced a new single “Hooked”.
This week has also given us several amazing collaborations, including “Are You Even Real” by Teddy Swims and Giveon, plus “Hypnotized” by Ellie Goulding and Anyma. ]]>Several songs on our list for this week marked the start of new eras for some of our favorite artists, starting with The Weeknd. He recently announced his next studio album Hurry Up Tomorrow, and its lead single “Dancing in the Flames” was worth the wait.
Tate McRae set the stage for the next chapter of her career with a new single “It’s Ok, I’m Ok” and paid homage with its epic music video. FKA Twigs is currently gearing up for the release of her third studio album Eusexua, and she gave us a taste of things to come with the lead single of the same name.
When it comes to new album releases, our favorite indie artists were having a field day this Friday. Suki Waterhouse promoted her new album Memoir of a Sparklemuffin with “Model, Actress, Whatever”, London Grammar impressed us with “You and I” from The Greatest Love, while Snow Patrol rocked our world with “Never Really Tire” from The Forest is the Path.

]]>The song sees the band returning to their roots and features a heavy-guitar sound similar to one featured on Franz Ferdinand’s first two albums. You can hear “Black Tuesday” in a fan-captured video below.
Franz Ferdinand’s appearance on North Music Festival was the band’s first live show in 2019 and marked the start of their 2019. The group is scheduled to perform a series of festival and headlining shows across Europe, with the trip scheduled to wrap up in late August with a set on Liverpool’s Fusion Festival.
After five years of studio break, Franz Ferdinand released their fifth studio album Always Ascending in 2018. This was the band’s first new release after the founding member Nick McCarthy decided to leave the band in 2017. The record received positive reviews from the critics and had decent success on the charts. It reached No.59 at the US Billboard 200 while topping the US Independent Albums charts and peaking at number six on the UK Albums charts.

]]>The first edition of Sziget Festival took place in Budapest, Hungary all the way back in 1993. This event has since transformed into one of the most prominent European festivals. Its growing popularity provided the organizers with an opportunity to book dozens of acclaimed performers, and they did it once again this year.
Ed Sheeran, Florence + The Machine, Foo Fighters and Twenty One Pilots have been announced as headliners a few months ago, but they won’t be the only ones. Second wave of performers includes several equally impressive names, starting with Post Malone, Franz Ferdinand and Years & Years.
The list doesn’t end there and it also includes Tove Lo, James Blake, IAMDDB and Razorlight. Sziget Festival 2019 will take place from August 7-13 on the idyllic island Óbudai-sziget, located north of Budapest.

]]>Y Not Festival has been around since 2006, and it’s been taking place in the small village of Pikehall ever since. This year’s event will be held on the weekend between July 25 and 28, and its organizers managed to convince a number of beloved artists to head to this tiny town in the Derbyshire Dales.
“We’re so happy to have a 2019 line-up bursting at the seams. We’ve got a huge mix of new and old faces to the Derbyshire Dales, with massive returns from classic bands such as White Lies, plus the huge welcomes to the UK’s hottest emerging stars like Idles and Mahalia,” read the statement released by organizers of this event.
Elbow, Two Door Cinema Club and Foals will be leading the way as headliners, but the list of performers features several equally popular bands, such as Wolf Alice, Franz Ferdinand and You Me At Six.
