]]>Swift dropped hints about her eleventh studio album while accepting the Grammy for its predecessor Midnights. She revealed The Tortured Poets Department will hit the shelves on April 19 during the live broadcast, and it didn’t take her long to share its cover and full tracklist.
“Fortnight” featuring Post Malone will open Swift’s next album, but he won’t be her only A-list collaborator on this LP. Florence + the Machine will team up with Swift for the song titled “Florida!!!”
The Tortured Poets Department is expected to feature a total of 17 tracks, with such titles as “So Long, London”, “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)”, “I Can Do It with a Broken Heart”, and “Clara Bow”.
In addition to sharing the cover and tracklist, Swift also posted a handwritten note, featuring lyrics, “And so I enter into evidence / My tarnished coat of arms / My muses, acquired like bruises / My talismans and charms / The tick, tick, tick of love bombs / My veins of pitch-black ink / All’s fair in love and poetry…”

]]>Most of our list this week consists of high-profile collaborations that bland rap with other genres. Nicki Minaj and Kim Petras finally dropped their long-awaited collaboration “Alone”, The Weeknd and Future continued their partnership with “Double Fantasy”, and Snoop Dogg hopped on Bebe Rexha’s “Satellite”.
This week has given us countless epic new tracks, but it’s been pretty slow for album releases. BTS’s Suga aka August D is the only artist expect to make any real impact on the charts with his new solo album D-Day and single “Haegeum”.
Our favorite female vocalists and rappers kept impressing us this week and delivered some new tracks we’ll be listening to on repeat, from Kali Uchis’s “Moonlight” and GloRilla’s “Unh Unh” to Florence and the Machine’s dreamy new track “Mermaids”.
This week’s list of the best new tracks also includes new singles from the British stars Ed Sheeran and Arlo Parks, so check it out and find your next favorite song.

]]>Welch announced she’s working on something new by posting a video that shows her lounging in a bathtub surrounded by candles, flowers, and art while wearing a mermaid tail. Soft music can be heard playing in the background, and she posted a pre-save link for this song, without sharing any additional details.
Welch’s fascination with the sea and water is nothing new, and she explored this theme through her music in the past. She also told SunSentinel that she spent her childhood fantasizing about Atlantis, mermaids, and a whole new world hiding underwater.
“I was a slightly uncomfortable child and to be underwater was to be graceful and to be submerged in something that was neither good nor bad. It just kind of takes you under, away from something,” she explained.
Welch’s new clip sparked a lot of speculations online, with some assuming the new song hails from The Great Gatsby musical adaptation she is working on while others suggested it could somewhat be connected to the upcoming remake of The Little Mermaid.
