]]>Halsey created a lot of buzz for her new album The Great Impersonator by sending her fans on a five-city scavenger hunt for the album’s five alternative covers. She also gave them a taste of things to come with the new single “Ego”, inspired by the ’90s alt-rock.
It’s also been a huge week for Linkin Park, who welcomed a new vocalist Emily Armstrong on board. They’re gearing up for the release of a new album From Zero, their first since the tragic passing of the band’s frontman Chester Bennington, and they gave us a taste of things to come with “The Emptiness Machine”.
When it comes to new albums, Camila Cabello promoted the new edition of C,XOXO with a new single “Godspeed”. Fred Again’s Ten Days has given us several amazing collaborations, including “Just Stand There” ft, Soak, while Ashe embraced her journey as an independent artist with “Ashe” from her new album Willson.
Our list also includes some buzzy collaborations, including Megan Thee Stallion’s “Neva Play” ft. RM and Central Cee and Raye’s “Moi”, so stick around to discover them all.

]]>Cabello teased C,XOXO as an album that sees her stepping out of her comfort zone and embracing her wild side. Her new era came with a total makeover, including bleached blonde hair, but many fans felt this change seemed too forced for the former Fifth Harmony singer even before she even shared any new music.
Things only got worse when the lead single “I Luv It” drew comparisons to Charli XCX’s song “I Got It”, while its follow-up, the Lil Nas X collaboration “He Knows” failed to make any impact on the charts despite featuring two major stars.
Cabello finally got the chance to prove the naysayers wrong on June 28, when she shared C,XOXO in full, but ended up serving more of the same. It gives us some solid dance-pop moments, but most songs are instantly forgettable unless you lean into the cringe.
Some of the features on C,XOXO elevated this album, while others don’t do it any favors. “Hot Uptown” ft. Drake is pretty solid, but their second collaboration “Uuugly” makes it feel like Cabello is a guest on her own album, and PinkPantheress’ “Pink XOXO” does the same.
After over a decade in the industry, Cabello’s career is certainly ripe for reinvention, but C,XOXO isn’t the big shift she was aiming for. Its sound is not authentic enough to hook us in, and most of the songs it has in store are too disposable to make any real impact in the long run.

]]>Cabello recently sat down with Billboard to discuss the release of C,XOXO, and said that the voice that she found on her new album “has this big baddie energy vibe.” She wanted to explore her fearless and rebellious side on this record, and she sought out collaborators who brought out the best in her.
The-Dream, City Girls, and BLP Kosher will be featured on Cabello’s new album, along with the Canadian superstar Drake. He will be featured on the songs “Hot Uptown” and “Uuugly”, for which he wrote a nearly two-minute-long interlude.
“Why does he have his own song? Because selfishly, I just want to hear Drake on my own album. I love that for me—it’s like that rebellious mood. Who says I can’t do that? It’s Drake talking his s–t,” she told Billboard.
C,XOXO will be released on June 28, and it was preceded by singles “I Luv It” featuring Playboi Carti and “He Knows” featuring Lil Nas X.

]]>The music video for “Ne Knows” was directed by Onda, and it sees Camila Cabello and Lil Nas X hitting the dance floor and fighting for the attention of the same guy. They pinky promise never to fight over a boy again at the end of the video, but it seems it won’t take them long to break it.
Camila Cabello discussed her collaboration with Lil Nas X in an interview with Rolling Stone and praised his commitment to really making “He Knows” work.
“He’s the kind of artist where it’s more than just the song. He really puts thought and care into the performance. He plays with the fans. He cares about the music video and making a statement,” she told Rolling Stone.
“He Knows” was released as the second single from Cabello’s fourth solo studio album C,XOXO, set to be released on June 28 via Geffen and Interscope Records. “I Luv It” featuring Playboi Carti was released as its lead single back in March.

]]>Cabello went through quite a makeover to tease her next era, and the album cover for C, XOXO sees her rocking her new blonde hair while licking a blue lollipop. Her new LP will be released on June 28 via Geffen and Interscope, and she already gave us a taste of her new sound.
“I Luv It” ft. Playboi Carti was released as the album’s lead single on March 27, and she performed it live at Coachella during Lana Del Rey’s set. She said this song was inspired by “the very rare few times where [she had] incredible chemistry with someone”, and she wanted to capture the “chaos and butterflies and nerves and passion” of that feeling.
Her new era was met with mixed reactions thus far, but Cabello told Paper Magazine this is the most confident she ever felt as an artist because she got to learn from her mistakes.
“This is my fourth time doing an album, which is not that many times to do something… I’ve learned from all of those times where I’ve been like, Okay, maybe I listened to that person and I wavered a little bit. I tried to see what didn’t feel good. And I didn’t do it again,” she explained.

]]>The Nicolás Méndez-directed visual sees Cabello embarking on what seems to be her villain era alongside Playboi Carti. “I Luv It” music video is a collection of some pretty wild scenes, and it sees Cabello pouring herself a glass of gasoline, being chased by police dogs, climbing up a palm tree, and sitting in a hospital waiting room with an arrow shot through her heart.
Cabello discussed the meaning behind this song in a recent cover story with Paper magazine and said it’s rooted in those very rare few times when she felt incredible chemistry with someone.
“Part of that cocktail is also the emotional drama between you and that person, and the chaos and butterflies and nerves and passion. It’s unsustainable and not peaceful and exhausting, but also, I love it,” she explained.
“I Luv It” was released as the lead single from Cabello’s upcoming fourth studio album C,XOXO, set to be released later this year via Geffen and Interscope.

]]>Cabello’s tour was supposed to kick off in Oslo, Norway on May 26th, but she felt it would be best to put it on hold because it’s impossible to start rehearsals without putting her team at risk.
“With all the news constantly coming out and so much that is really unknown, we’re also taking extreme precautions to protect ourselves, our team, our dancers, our band, our crew and ultimately you guys, I’m truly heartbroken to say that we’ve decided we need to postpone the tour,” wrote the singer on Instagram.
Cabello also added that she and her team have been working on something “really magical and special”, and that she’s looking forward to reuniting with her fans once the danger passes. Romance came out back in December, and it gave us hit singles “My Oh My”, “Liar”, and “Señorita”.
