]]>Raye made BRIT Awards history even before attending the ceremony and became the most nominated artist in a single year with seven nods. She eventually walked away with six awards, only losing the best pop act prize to Dua Lipa.
Raye’s debut album My 21st Century Blues defeated the likes of The Ballad of Darren by Blur, Beautiful and Brutal Yard by J Hus, No Thank You by Little Simz, and Heavy Heavy by Young Fathers to win one of the ceremony’s top prizes – British album of the year.
Raye also collected the coveted award for the British artist of the year, while her breakout hit “Escapism” ft. 070 Shake was named the song of the year. She came out victorious in three more categories to bring her total to six awards – best R&B act, best new artist, and songwriter of the year.
The 2024 BRIT Awards returned to The O2 Arena in London on March 2, with Clara Amfo, Maya Jama, and Roman Kemp sharing the hosting duties.

“The U.K. has always been a home from home so the Brits have a very special place in my heart. I have some amazing memories from the awards over the years and I can’t wait to be back on the Brits stage,” said Minogue in a statement.
To make the whole thing even better, this isn’t the only honorary award that Minogue will collect next month. She’s also been chosen as the recipient of Billboard Women in Music’s Icon Award.
The 2024 Brit Awards will take place on March 2 at The O2 Arena in London, with Clara Amfo, Maya Jama, and Roman Kemp co-hosting the show. Raye is coming into the night as the most-nominated artist with seven nods, and she’s been announced as one of the performers alongside Minogue and Dua Lipa.

Raye scored two nods for song of the year with “Escapism.” ft. 070 Shake and “Prada” ft. Cassö and D-Block Europe. She’s one of the contenders for artist of the year, as well, but she’ll have to face tough competition in Dua Lipa, Dave, Arlo Parks, Jessie Ware, and Central Cee.
Raye is also competing for best pop act, best R&B act, and best new artist, where the list of nominees includes fellow rising stars Mahalia, Olivia Dean, PinkPantheress, and Yussef Dayes.

]]>Abigail Morris, Lizzie Mayland, Emily Roberts, Georgia Davies, and Aurora Nishevci of The Last Dinner Party were announced as the next winners of the Rising Star Award, and they thanked BRIT Award voters for honoring them with this major prize.
“We are so proud beyond measure to have won the BRITs Rising Star. It’s an honour to achieve something so iconic so early on in our career and we can only hope to keep making music that connects with all the incredible people who have listened to and supported us so far,” said the band in a statement.
The Last Dinner Party was formed in 2021, and they made quite a splash with several singles released throughout this year, including “Nothing Matters”, “Sinner”, “My Lady of Mercy”, and “On Your Side”. Their debut album Prelude to Ecstasy will be released on February 2, 2024 via Island Records.
The 2024 BRIT Awards will return to The O2 Arena in London on March 2, 2024, and the nominees are yet to be announced.

]]>The Brit Awards came under fire after last year’s nominations were announced, and the list of contenders for British artist of the year included five male nominees. This happened shortly after the merger of the best male and best female categories in 2021, and this category will reportedly expand from five to ten nominees to ensure a more balanced field.
Dr. Jo Twist, CEO of awards organizers the BPI, told BBC they were disappointed that no women were nominated for artist of the year in 2023, and decided to make the necessary changes after reaching out to people in the industry.
“The BRITs is committed to making the show as inclusive and representative as possible. The changes to this year’s categories are part of an ongoing process of evolution, and we will continue to review, listen and learn,” said Twist in a statement.
The 2024 Brit Award will return to London’s O2 Arena on March 2, 2024, and the list of nominees is yet to be announced.

]]>The four of them will all be competing for two of the ceremony’s biggest awardsùthe artists of the year and album of the year—with Sam Fender joining them in both. Adele scored her nomination with her latest LP 30, while Sheeran is competing with his new album Equals AKA =.
Sheeran’s “Bad Habits” and Adele’s “Easy on Me” are also in the running for the song of the year, but they’ll have to face some tough competition to get their hands on this trophy. The category features a total of 15 songs, including “Cold Heart” by Elton John and Dua Lipa and “Clash” by Dave and Stormzy.
What set the upcoming Brit Awards apart is the introduction of gender-neutral categories. Back in November last year, it’s been announced that the gendered categories will be removed from all future ceremonies, leading to the introduction of the British artist of the year award.
We’ll see who’ll come out victorious at this historic ceremony on February 8th, 2022, when the Brit Awards are set to take place at the O2 Arena.

Lipa also performed an explosive medley consisting of songs from Future Nostalgia, which included “Physical”, “Hallucinate”, and “Don’t Start Now”. The list of performers at the Brit Awards included the likes of The Weeknd, Olivia Rodrigo, and Coldplay.
When it comes to the rest of the major winners, J Hus was named as the best British male solo artist, Little Mix picked up the award for the best British group, while Arlo Parks won in the best breakthrough artist category. Taylor Swift has honored the global icon award, while The Weeknd, Billie Eilish, and Haim dominated the international field.
The 2021 Brit Awards took place on May 11th, with Jack Whitehall hosting for the fourth time in a row.

Some of the popular categories, including British artist video of the year and international group, won’t be present at the upcoming ceremony. They’re also dropping several honorary awards – British producer of the year, global success award, and outstanding contribution to music.
The BRITs are renaming several major categories: British breakthrough act will become best new artist; British single of the year becomes song of the year. The word British is being dropped from several categories, making this award show more accessible.
Fan voting is now becoming the thing of the past, and an official voting academy consisting of 1,200 industry professionals will be in charge of picking the winners.
The BRITs won’t be imposing any creative limitations on the artists booked to perform at the ceremony, and they’ll have full creative control to “create and curate their own unique moments.”

]]>Abigail Morris, Lizzie Mayland, Emily Roberts, Georgia Davies, and Aurora Nishevci of The Last Dinner Party were announced as the next winners of the Rising Star Award, and they thanked BRIT Award voters for honoring them with this major prize.
“We are so proud beyond measure to have won the BRITs Rising Star. It’s an honour to achieve something so iconic so early on in our career and we can only hope to keep making music that connects with all the incredible people who have listened to and supported us so far,” said the band in a statement.
The Last Dinner Party was formed in 2021, and they made quite a splash with several singles released throughout this year, including “Nothing Matters”, “Sinner”, “My Lady of Mercy”, and “On Your Side”. Their debut album Prelude to Ecstasy will be released on February 2, 2024 via Island Records.
The 2024 BRIT Awards will return to The O2 Arena in London on March 2, 2024, and the nominees are yet to be announced.

]]>The Brit Awards came under fire after last year’s nominations were announced, and the list of contenders for British artist of the year included five male nominees. This happened shortly after the merger of the best male and best female categories in 2021, and this category will reportedly expand from five to ten nominees to ensure a more balanced field.
Dr. Jo Twist, CEO of awards organizers the BPI, told BBC they were disappointed that no women were nominated for artist of the year in 2023, and decided to make the necessary changes after reaching out to people in the industry.
“The BRITs is committed to making the show as inclusive and representative as possible. The changes to this year’s categories are part of an ongoing process of evolution, and we will continue to review, listen and learn,” said Twist in a statement.
The 2024 Brit Award will return to London’s O2 Arena on March 2, 2024, and the list of nominees is yet to be announced.

]]>The four of them will all be competing for two of the ceremony’s biggest awardsùthe artists of the year and album of the year—with Sam Fender joining them in both. Adele scored her nomination with her latest LP 30, while Sheeran is competing with his new album Equals AKA =.
Sheeran’s “Bad Habits” and Adele’s “Easy on Me” are also in the running for the song of the year, but they’ll have to face some tough competition to get their hands on this trophy. The category features a total of 15 songs, including “Cold Heart” by Elton John and Dua Lipa and “Clash” by Dave and Stormzy.
What set the upcoming Brit Awards apart is the introduction of gender-neutral categories. Back in November last year, it’s been announced that the gendered categories will be removed from all future ceremonies, leading to the introduction of the British artist of the year award.
We’ll see who’ll come out victorious at this historic ceremony on February 8th, 2022, when the Brit Awards are set to take place at the O2 Arena.

Lipa also performed an explosive medley consisting of songs from Future Nostalgia, which included “Physical”, “Hallucinate”, and “Don’t Start Now”. The list of performers at the Brit Awards included the likes of The Weeknd, Olivia Rodrigo, and Coldplay.
When it comes to the rest of the major winners, J Hus was named as the best British male solo artist, Little Mix picked up the award for the best British group, while Arlo Parks won in the best breakthrough artist category. Taylor Swift has honored the global icon award, while The Weeknd, Billie Eilish, and Haim dominated the international field.
The 2021 Brit Awards took place on May 11th, with Jack Whitehall hosting for the fourth time in a row.

Some of the popular categories, including British artist video of the year and international group, won’t be present at the upcoming ceremony. They’re also dropping several honorary awards – British producer of the year, global success award, and outstanding contribution to music.
The BRITs are renaming several major categories: British breakthrough act will become best new artist; British single of the year becomes song of the year. The word British is being dropped from several categories, making this award show more accessible.
Fan voting is now becoming the thing of the past, and an official voting academy consisting of 1,200 industry professionals will be in charge of picking the winners.
The BRITs won’t be imposing any creative limitations on the artists booked to perform at the ceremony, and they’ll have full creative control to “create and curate their own unique moments.”
