]]>Hanna just announced a book tour across the United States supporting her upcoming memoir, Rebel Girl: My Life As A Feminist Punk. The tour will kick off on May 14, the same day the memoir comes out, at Greenlight Bookstore in Brooklyn, New York.
After that, Hanna will visit nine more cities, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Boston, and Philadelphia.
In Rebel Girl: My Life As A Feminist Punk, Hanna gives the readers an insight into her early life and her road to becoming one of the most influential punk rock musicians in the 1990s. The book also promises to reveal more about her friendship with influential musicians of the era, like Nirvana’s late frontman Kurt Cobain.
When she wraps her book tour, Hanna will embark on a trip across Europe with Bikini Kill. The band, which reunited in 2019, is currently scheduled to play a string of solo shows and festival appearances through June in Spain, France, Netherlands, and Belgium, among other European countries.

]]>The European leg of the tour will now take place in the late spring of 2021, with several new dates added to the original bill. The first show will be in Brussels on May 27th, followed by concerts in France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, and Germany.
The North America dates, previously scheduled for March, are now moved to the fall of next year. Bikini Kill will visit 24 cities during the trip while playing a pair of shows in Olympia, Victoria, Portland, Seattle, Silver Springs, Toronto, and Miami.
The band also recruited supporting acts for gigs in the United States and Canada, including Alice Bag, Donkey Bugs, Lithics, and Mecca Normal, among others.
Bikini Kill rose to prominence in the ’90s as pioneers of riot grrrl movement. They released two studio albums, Pussy Whipped and Reject All American, alongside several other releases before disbanding in 1997.
The band reunited in 2019, playing several shows in North America and Europe. According to recent interviews, they currently have no plans to record new material.

]]>As part of the tour, the girls played a gig at Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre on Wednesday night and decided to invite legendary American singer/songwriter Joan Jett on stage.
Jett joined Bikini Kill towards the end of the set for a special rendition of the band’s 1993 hit “Rebel Girl.” As expected, this made crowd ecstatic and made a great show even better.

Back in January, Bikini Kill announced they are embarking on a tour with original members Kathleen Hanna, Tobi Vail, and Kathi Wilcox taking part in the reunion. Original guitarist Billy Karren was replaced by Erica Dawn Lyle.
Although the group was originally scheduled to play only four shows in the United States, three more were added later due to large ticket demand.
Following the US leg of the tour, the band is heading to the United Kingdom, where they’ll play two shows on June 10th and June 11th at London’s O2 Academy. British punkers Big Joanie will act as a support for these shows, while The Tuts and Childs Pose will be opening acts.
