]]>Director Levan Tsikurishvili immortalized his close friend in this touching video, after many years of working together. They previously worked on 8 music videos, 3 concert movies and 2 documentaries together, but the visuals for “Heaven” are what left everyone speechless.
This video was inspired by their 2016 holiday in Madagascar, and features a series of smartphone videos from the trip. In order to fully capture the experience, Tsikurishvili went back to the island to record some more footage for the video.
“We spoke about everything, laughed, played monopoly, hung out with lemurs, and explored the entire island together. Now, two-and-a-half years later, I returned to the island to remember Tim, to honor his legacy, and to recreate the memories that will stay with us forever,” wrote Tsikurishvili on YouTube.

]]>Vincent Pontare and Salem Al Fakir, from Vargas and Lagola, have written and produced this song in a manner of staying true to Avicii’s style and his previous work. They also continue to work on his unfinished album by using nearly complete songs, email conversation and text messages in order to make it as close to his vision as possible. In some of his notes, Avicii had written that it would be cool if a real couple could do it, so to make his idea complete Pontare and his wife Agnes sang the song as a duet.
In the meantime, a biography of Avicii’s life is supposed to be released next year. This news was announced a few days after the one year anniversary of his death. The money from this book will go into Tim Bergling Foundation to help people who are struggling with mental health.

]]>The news of Avicii’s untimely death was made public on April 20 last year. According to his family, Tim Bergling’s was working on new music before he died and was “close to completing a new album.” They also said that: “he left behind a collection of nearly finished songs, along with notes, email conversations and text messages about the music.”
As a tribute to Avicii, his family decided to allow producer Carl Funk to go through his recordings and finish the album so it can be shared with the world.
According to The New York Times, who have spoken directly with Funk, the upcoming album “is not a posthumous collection of musical leftovers. Instead, it concentrates on songs the artist was far into writing and producing during the last three months of his life, songs which, his friends say, he very much wanted
“Together, the sounds and sentiments they offer represent a cohesive and striking leap ahead for a musician already known as one of the most impactful innovators in electronic pop of the last decade.”
Tim will be released in June this year.

In her letter to Avicii, who was 28-years-old, Kacerova wrote:
“I’ve spent the last days waiting to wake up, waiting for someone to tell me this is some sick joke, some awful mistake. I think it’s finally settling on me now that I will truly never get to see you again.”
She also spoke about the plans for the future which they had:
“I used to tell you that Lucas will never remember life without you. Now I hope that he will remember his life with you.
“I was always very set on keeping our relationship private, because I wanted it to be ours and wanted no part in that madness. But I thought, if I’m going to share this with the world, it will be when I’m pregnant with our child. Oh how that plan went awry.
“I called you baby angel. Little did I know how soon you would become one.
“The last words you ever said to me were I love you. Well I love you as much as you love Mexican coke and then some.”

]]>Due to health complications, Avicii announced he was retiring from music in 2016. He experienced health problems due to excessive heavy drinking.
In the 2017 Netflix documentary Avicii: True Stories, Avicii said he knew he would die if he continued performing.
“I have told them this. I won’t be able to play anymore. I have said, like, ‘I’m going to die.’ I have said it so many times,” he said in the documentary, which dropped in October. “And so I don’t want to hear that I should entertain the thought of doing another gig.”
He also revealed he was not happy with the reception which he received after announcing his retirement.
“I have been very open with everyone I work with, and everyone who knows me. Everyone knows that I’ve had anxiety and that I have tried. I did not expect that people would try to pressure me into doing more gigs. They have seen how ill I have felt by doing it, but I had a lot of push-back when I wanted to stop doing gigs.”
