]]>No album this week created more commotion than Taylor Swift’s Tortured Poets and its companion piece The Anthology. She’s given us 16 new songs on the standard edition and 31 in total, but “So Long, London” is definitely her strongest new release.
This Friday was pretty slow for new releases because most artists wanted to avoid competing with Swift. That didn’t stop Pearl Jam from sharing their long-awaited album Dark Matter, which produced several amazing songs, including “Wreckage”.
The lack of major releases helped our favorite indie and international artists shine, and make it to our list of the best new songs of the week. Hozier’s “Why Would You Be Loved” is definitely worth listening to on repeat, and so are the latest singles by Rachel Chinouriri, Debbii Dawson, Kings of Leon, Kate Nash, and more.

“I’m excited to be a part of the Super Bowl LVIII,” Tiesto said in a statement. “And it’s even more incredible that it’s in my favorite place – Las Vegas. Thank you to the NFL for having me. I cannot wait to party with you all at the big game!”

]]>Justice previewed Hyperdrama by sharing two new tracks. The first one is the Tame Impala collaboration “One Night/All Night”, which came with a music video directed by Anton Tammi.
“This song oscillates between pure electronic music and pure disco, but you never really get the two at the same time,” Justice shared. “This very idea of switching instantly from a genre to another within a song runs through the whole record and is maybe showcased the clearest in ‘One Night/All Night.'”
The second song, titled “Generator”, is compared to “Getaway” by the Salsoul Orchestra but “with gabber and classic ’90s hardcore techno sounds.”
Fans will be able to hear these and other Hyperdrama tracks live for the first time when Justice makes an appearance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 12 and April 19. The duo will use the opportunity to also debut their new live show.
After Coachella, Justice will embark on a tour that will see them perform at a number of other music festivals in South America and Europe. The trip will include back-to-back-to-back sets at the Best Kept Secret festival in Hilvarenbeek, Netherlands, in June.

]]>Hilton recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and shared some exciting news with the fans of her music. She’s dropping a Steve Aoki collaboration “Lighter” this week, and this song will serve as an interlude for her next album, which counts Sia among its producers.
This isn’t the first time that Hilton teased her comeback to music. The multi-hyphenate previously told Variety that she’s working on new music that falls under the EDM genre, with hints of pop sprinkled throughout.
“I’ve also been learning to produce. It’s hard, it’s a very technical skill but I’ve made some songs already and I’m excited to see what else I can do. I’ve got new songs on the way, and just a lot of new ideas and projects coming sooner than you think,” she explained.
Hilton’s debut album Paris came out in 2006, and its lead single “Stars Are Blind” experienced renewed popularity after appearing in the film Promising Young Woman in 2020.

]]>The post Troye Sivan’s “Something to Give Each Other” is a True Gift to Dance-Pop Fans appeared first on Hot Pop Today.
]]>When Sivan initially teased his new album, he explained its title refers to his desire to give us something—a kiss on a dancefloor, a date turned into a weekend, a crush, a winter, a summer. He also explained it captures heartbreak, freedom, community, sisterhood, and friendship, and these themes bleed through on pretty much every track on this record.
It’s been five years since Sivan’s last studio album Bloom, but he kept experimenting with dance-pop sound with the critically acclaimed EP In a Dream. Just like all of his previous releases, Something to Give Each Other offers a perfect balance of catchy bops and reflective slower tunes, and at 33 minutes and 10 songs, it never feels like any of them are fillers.
Sivan knocked it out of the park with the lead single “Rush”, one of his most radio-friendly solo songs to date, which will most likely go down in history as the defining queer anthem of 2023. He continued his exploration of dance-pop with “Got Me Started”, while also offering u taste of pop perfection with such songs as “One of Your Girls” and “What’s the Time Where You Are?”.
Sivan did a great job setting the stage for Something to Give Each Other with the first two singles, and though the rest of the record may lack their bite, that doesn’t take away from its quality. Joy and pain come together in perfect harmony on Something to Give Each Other, creating a cohesive album that serves as a worthy addition to the singer’s top-notch discography.
