Ozzy Osbourne’s new album is only a month away, and he’s giving us a lot to be excited about. The rocker’s new record will feature collaborations with Elton John, Post Malone, Slash, and Tom Morello, but how did they all agree to help him out?

Turns out it didn’t take a lot of convincing, since they all happen to be close friends, and when Osbourne asked them to be on his next record, they wanted to jump right in.

“Slash is a dear friend of mine, as is Elton. When I was writing ‘Ordinary Man,’ it reminded me of an old Elton song and I said to Sharon, ‘I wonder if he would sing on it?’ We asked and lo and behold, he agreed and sings and plays piano on the song,” said the Black Sabbath singer.

Osbourne’s new album Ordinary Man will be his first solo record in ten years, and it’s scheduled to come out on February 21st. A single of the same name features an appearance from Elton John, and it was released on Friday.

The 1991 Guns and Roses’ track You Could Be Mine will always be linked to the Terminator franchise after it appeared on Terminator 2: Judgment Day as well as in 2009s Terminator: Salvation. For that reason, fans were enthusiastic when rumors that the upcoming Terminator movie, Terminator: Dark Fate will include a new song from the veteran hard rock band.

Now, guitarist Slash made an end to those rumors.

“There’s nothing in the Terminator movie, by the way,” slash said in an interview on Trunk Nation. “These rumors, they take off and then they get a life of their own and you can’t reel ‘em in. They just sort of getting tossed around in the wind. Anyway… yeah, so there’s nothing in there.”

The guitarist said that the band is doing shows in the states now and they have a few dates in Mexico until November and then they have few shows lined up in March. “Obviously, everybody knows that we’re working on new material, which is really exciting; and so that’s primarily what the focus is.”

If some of you have forgotten, here’s Guns N Roses “You Could be Mine” from the Terminator 2: Judgment Day Soundtrack.

Guns N’ Roses have teased fans about releasing a new album for some time now, but the band wasn’t willing to go into details about these efforts.

Well, until now.

The group’s guitarist Slash recently had a chat with 101 WRIF’s DJ Meltdown, and confirmed Guns N’ Roses will enter the studio and work on the new record after wrapping up their current tour in fall. The band’s last show is scheduled for October 13th at the Exit 111 Festival.

“After those Guns dates we’ll be working on the record,” said Slash. “When we finish the tour in the fall then we will commit to working on the next Guns record.”

Although he initially didn’t want to follow this up with more details, Slash ended up sharing that Guns N’ Roses have “already started working” on new music.

“The thing is, we haven’t really done anything yet, and I don’t like to say anything. You know how people used to promote s**t and lie through their teeth?” he added. “So I just wanted to be honest about it, and so there was really no telling what we were gonna do at that point. But at this point, I do know that we are gonna do this run [of shows in the fall], and we’ve already started working on stuff. So, there you go.”

After almost two decades, Slash and bassist Duff McKagan got back together with singer Axl Rose and keyboardist Dizzy Reed, partially reuniting the classical Guns N’ Roses’ lineup. The group embarked on a Not In This Lifetime tour in 2016 and ended up playing 159 shows in 41 countries with more to go.

It looks like Guns N’ Roses are definitely working on a new album, but we shouldn’t expect it anytime soon. The band’s guitarist, Slash recently had a sit-down with Japanese music critic Maso Ito and gave an update about their new album.

“Axl [Rose], Duff [McKagan], myself and [guitarist] Richard [Fortus] have all talked about… there’s material and stuff going on already for a new record,” – said Slash. “It’s just, with Guns N’ Roses, you don’t go, ‘Oh, there is a plan, and it’s gonna be like this,’ because that’s not how it works. So, basically, the only real answer to give is we’re hoping to put a new record out, and we’ll just see what happens when it happens.”

The 53-year-old guitarist also reflected on the reunion of Guns N’ Roses’ classic lineup after 20 years and their recent massively successful worldwide tour.

“The band was great, the f***ing entourage, the crew, the whole production was just like this really great marriage of people, and we just all had a really good time,” – he added. “And the fans were amazing. So I’m really happy that it happened.”

Guns N’ Roses’ last record was 2016’s Chinese Democracy, but the record didn’t feature any of the founding members besides vocalist Axl Rose. The most recent album that featured original songs from the band’s classic lineup was 1991’s Use Your Illusion II.

The legendary guitarist of Guns ‘N’ Roses thinks that rock music has got too “commercial” and “dull and boring.”

In his hay day, Slash was just about the coolest figure in rock n roll out there. The combination of his wicked hair and look with his fiercely sexy guitar licks made him and Axl Rose a near unstoppable force. Well, that is until the band split up and Slash left Axl for another project.

Now, Slash worries that the genre that he has dedicated his life to just isn’t what it used to be. After talking with Billboard Radio China about his success with post-GnR project, Velvet Revolver, Slash unleashed his opinion on 21st-century rock music.

“And then, as we [Velvet Revolver] got down the line, it seemed that rock sort of got… More than anything, the commercial approach to rock and roll that the industry forces on bands, or forces people to think that this is how they have to go about it to succeed, and it just turns into this generic mishmosh that manages to get on the radio but doesn’t really turn anybody on, and it’s just dull and boring and people start looking elsewhere,” Slash told Billboard Radio China.

He added: “And I think that was, really, what happened to the industry, as far as rock and roll is concerned, after 2006 up until just recently.”

Luckily, he doesn’t think that “rock n roll is dead” but believes that rock music is making a comeback. Commenting on bands like Greta Van Fleet, he said:

“But it seems to be turning over a new leaf right now. So I’m really interested to see where it goes over the next few years, ’cause there’s a lot of really hungry young rock and roll bands getting together right now that I’m aware of.”

While we wait for him to put out some new music with Guns N’ Roses, guitar legend Slash is choosing to focus on his solo work. Recently, the guitarist presented his new track titled “Mind Your Manners,” which was done with his accompanying band Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators.

This riff-heavy song will be part of Slash’s new solo album Living the Dream, which is scheduled for release on September 21st. The record will be first from Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators since 2014’s World on Fire.

Hear “Mind Your Manners” below.

“I wrote this song on the spot to help the band get up and running once we got back in the studio this past January,” the 53-year-old guitarist told Louder Sound. “It’s just a go-for-it type of song. Pretty straightforward rock and fun to play.”

“‘Mind Your Manners’ was something I didn’t hear until the guys had started jamming together. It’s a cool, up-tempo sort of thing and I knew immediately it would have its own place on this record,” Myles Kennedy added.

“Mind Your Manners” is the second single from the upcoming record after “Driving Rain” was released back in July.

Following the release of Living the Dream, Slash and his band will embark on a 20-date tour across the United States on September 13th.

Guitar legend Slash has teased a new Guns N’ Roses album.

“It’s been talked about. I think everybody wants to do it, and we’ll just see what happens. We’ve been busy doing this running around the planet,” he said.

It’s been ten years since the band released Chinese Democracy, which Slash did not appear on. The last album he made with Axl Rose was The Spaghetti Incident back in 1993, three years before he left the band.

The classic Guns N’ Roses line-up reunited in 2016 for a huge worldwide tour. The Not In This Lifetime Tour is still running until November. They have sold tickets for 125 shows so far all over the world. A new album with new songs would be big news for fans.

Slash’s latest solo album Living The Dream is due for release on September 21st this year.

Besides touring the world with the Guns N’ Roses, Slash also found time for his solo projects. The legendary guitarist announced on Thursday that he is preparing a new album with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. This yet-untitled album will be released in the fall, with Michael “Elvis” Baskette serving as a producer.

“I’ve been working with Myles, Brent [Fitz on drums] and Todd [Kerns on bass] for about 8 years now,” said Slash in a statement. “It’s been an amazing ride so far; as a band we continue to get better, which is great. With the addition of Frank [Sidoris on guitar] since the World on Fire tour, I feel we have hit a creative stride.”

The collaboration between Slash and vocalist Myles Kennedy began in 2010 when Kennedy provided vocals for two songs (“Back from Cali” and “Starlight”) for Slash’s 2010’s solo album. The duo then collaborated on the guitarist’s next two albums, 2012’s Apocalyptic Love and 2014’s World on Fire, which Kennedy co-wrote and provided vocals for all songs.

Before his solo album rolls out, Slash will embark on a European tour with the Guns N’ Roses in the summer.

“I love doing European festivals, and this is the first time we’ve done any proper festivals over there on the Not in This Lifetime Tour,” he said.

The European leg of Not in This Lifetime… Tour will kick off on June 3rd in Berlin, Germany and will include 17 more dates, the last one being in Gothenburg, Sweden on July 21st.

Slash also praised the current Guns N’ Roses lineup, which consists of classic-era members Axl Rose, Duff McKagan, Dizzy Reed, and himself, alongside Richard Fortus, Frank Ferrer, and Melissa Reese.

“It’s like being in a new band,” said Slash. “Except there’s a chemistry that is established from days of old.”
