]]>The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honors “artists who have created music whose originality, impact, and influence has changed the course of rock and roll”, and their performer category includes eight honorees this time around.
Cher was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the first time this year, after publicly calling out the organization for never taking her into consideration. Just a few months ago, she told Kelly Clarkson, “I wouldn’t be in it now if they gave me a million dollars.”
Cher is yet to publicly address her induction, but Mary J. Blige and Ozzy Osbourne are among the honorees who expressed gratitude to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They’ll be inducted alongside Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Kool & The Gang, and A Tribe Called Quest.
The 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on October 19, and it will air live on Disney+.

]]>Sharon shared the news during her spoken-word show on Sunday while also confirming that the shows will take place in Osbourne’s hometown of Birmingham, UK.
“He won’t tour again but we are planning on doing two more shows to say goodbye as he feels like, ‘I have never said goodbye to my fans and I want to say goodbye properly,’” Sharon shared.
Osbourne embarked on his farewell tour, titled No More Tours II, back in 2018. After completing the North America and South America legs of the tour, alongside a handful of European dates, Osbourne had to postpone the remaining shows in Europe and the UK due to the COVID-19 pandemic and health issues. The postponed dates were later canceled, with the “Crazy Train” singer announcing his retirement from touring in February 2023.
Osbourne’s most recent show took place at Ozzfest in 2018. Since then, he has only made a handful of guest appearances, including a two-song set on September 2022 at SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, as part of the NFL Kickoff 2022 ceremony.

]]>In a recent interview with Metal Hammer, Osbourne acknowledged that the days of touring and lengthy trips are behind him. However, he made it clear that he still intends to keep playing occasional live shows.
“I mean, doing a live show is what I live for,” Osbourne said. I’ve had to cancel my [2023] European tour, but I’m determined.”
According to Osbourne, he will make sure to get in front of the crowd even if he needs a wheelchair to do it. “I’ve gotta do more gigs if I have to get someone to wheel me out there,” he added. “I mean, you can’t retire from this game. It’s not a job; it’s a passion. I don’t know how to do anything else.”
Osbourne is expected to return to the stage this October with a scheduled appearance at Power Trip Festival. The heavy metal-focused festival, which will take place at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, will also feature shows from Metallica, Iron Maiden, Guns N’ Roses, Tool, and AC/DC.

]]>In the most recent episode of SiriusXM’s Ozzy Speaks, the co-host Billy Morison asked Osbourne if his recent collaboration with the guitarist Tony Iommi means they’ll plotting a Black Sabbath reunion, but he doesn’t seem to be interested in that idea.
“It was very successful for a lot of years, and people wanted to see us. I did that farewell tour… I would work with any of them individually. But as Black Sabbath, I think it’s [over]. We couldn’t really beat what we’ve already done,” said Osbourne.
He also added that the only sad part of the farewell tour was that Bill Ward wasn’t there, but they’ve spoken since and they’re on good terms. He added that the music he made with Sabbath is completely different from what he’s into now and that he doesn’t want to do the same thing over and over again.
Osbourne and Iommi joined forces on the track “Degradation Rules” from the singer’s latest album Patient Number 9, which came out on September 9.

“I am making another album because while I can’t tour, I can make music. What I learned from Ordinary Man, it got the juices flowing again. People say they write the best songs when they’re unhappy, and I was unhappy last year,” Osbourne told his fans.
Ordinary Man is Osbourne’s first solo album in ten years, and the critics have described it as one of his very best. Osbourne was planning to promote new material during another North American leg of his No More Tours II series of concerts but decided to put the tour on hold until fall to focus on his health.

]]>Osbourne was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease earlier this year, and decided to cancel the upcoming No More Tours II after learning his treatment is scheduled for April and that it will take six to eight weeks.
“I don’t want to start a tour and then cancel shows at the last minute, as it’s just not fair to the fans. I’d rather they get a refund now and when I do the North American tour down the road, everyone who bought a ticket for these shows will be the first ones in line to purchase tickets at that time,” said Osbourne in a statement.
The North American leg of No More Tours II was supposed to kick off on May 27th in Atlanta, but the former Black Sabbath singer decided to postpone it and focus on his health instead. This cancellation doesn’t affect European dates, and he’s still scheduled to perform in Newcastle, England on October 23rd and stay on the road until the end of fall.

In her movie, Sharon wants to shed light on what it was like to be the Lady Macbeth behind one of the most infamous legends in rock n roll.
Speaking with Variety, she explained: “I don’t want to do another rock and roll, sex, drugs and money movie about a musician. That’s not what I’m doing. There hasn’t been a movie about a woman that actually works on the management side — that’s a true story — and somebody that succeeds through the struggle and you come out the other side.”
In more recent news, Sharon told Celebrity Access that the movie is now in the works.
She said: “We are doing our own movie. We’ve got a deal and we are working with a writer right now, Ozzy and I.”
There is no release date in sight but given Sharon’s track record for making things happen, it’s likely that she will achieve her goal and have production wrapped up by the end of the year.

“Slash is a dear friend of mine, as is Elton. When I was writing ‘Ordinary Man,’ it reminded me of an old Elton song and I said to Sharon, ‘I wonder if he would sing on it?’ We asked and lo and behold, he agreed and sings and plays piano on the song,” said the Black Sabbath singer.
Osbourne’s new album Ordinary Man will be his first solo record in ten years, and it’s scheduled to come out on February 21st. A single of the same name features an appearance from Elton John, and it was released on Friday.

He’s got all his friends playing on it. He’s doing a song with Elton. There’s so much good stuff. Good things.”

Ozzy Osbourne had a rough year, having to cancel the majority of his tour dates due to illness. The tour dates were rescheduled for early 2020, with the first leg of shows taking place in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Europe.

]]>Speaking with Blabbermouth, Sharon shared that Ozzy has not only recovered from his accident – he has been making new music. She said: “He had a very, very bad accident this year, but he’s getting there.”
She then shared the latest album update: “He’s just finished an album, and the album is coming out in January.”
The accident that Sharon is referring to is a fall Ozzy had during his recovery from pneumonia. He was forced to undergo neck surgery as a result of his injuries and recovery was slow and painful. Subsequently, the Black Sabbath frontman had to postpone several dates from his “No More Tours II” farewell tour. The show dates are set to resume in May 2020.
To keep himself occupied during recovery, Ozzy has been hard at work on a new album. No details about the record have been released but we know that it is due in the new year.
