]]>Rodrigo embarked on the Guts World Tour back in February and performed a series of concerts across North America. The tour included four dates at Madison Square Garden in New York City, and Noah Kahan hit the stage by Rodrigo’s side during one of the concerts.
The duo delivered an acoustic guitar version of Kahan’s breakout hit “Stick Season”, which became a viral hit in recent months and hit No. 1 in the UK. Kahan later took to social media to thank Rodrigo for inviting him to join her on stage, and described her as “a special talent”.
This isn’t the first time Rodrigo and Kahan expressed their admiration for each other. She previously performed a cover of “Stick Season” on the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, and Kahan returned the favor by delivering an emotional cover of her song “Lacy” during his appearance on the same show.
Two covers were released on a seven-inch colored vinyl as a Record Store Day special, and Rodrigo said she’s hoping for a collaboration with Kahan because she thinks he’s “very inspiring”.

The new edition featured several collaborations that Kahan shared with his fans throughout 2023, including “Dial Drunk” ft. Post Malone, “Northern Attitude” ft. Hozier, and “She Calls Me Back” ft. Kacey Musgraves. It also featured three brand-new songs, including “Forever”, “You’re Gonna Go Far” ft. Brandi Carlile, and “Paul Revere” ft. Gregory Alan Isakov.

“I’ve seen the comments, no more collaborations, we’re sick of them, ’cause I’ve heard it all I’ve decided to present you with yet another teaser for a new collaboration that I’m so excited about. ]]>Christmas tunes finally left the UK Singles chart this week, leaving it up to “Stick Season” to become the first No. 1 hit of 2024 in the UK. Kahan’s viral hit climbed to the top spot with 6.5 million streams, after previously spending two non-consecutive weeks at No. 2.
Kahan recently told NME that stick season signifies the time of the year “between fall and the snow”, adding it marks a time of transition in a lot of people’s lives.
“I thought I was gonna go to college but, instead, I got a record deal. I was just at home in Vermont making music and my friends would come home for Thanksgiving, when stick season was in full swing. They would leave, and that loneliness would come back,” he told NME.
“Stick Season” was released as the lead single from Kahan’s third studio album of the same name, and it helped the Vermont-based indie singer score a Grammy nod for best new artist.
