]]>Ariana Grande’s long-awaited deluxe edition of Eternal Sunshine, titled Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead, finally hit the shelves this Friday—and it was worth the wait! It’s given us six amazing new tracks, but none created more buzz than “Twilight Zone”.
Speaking of new albums, Mumford & Sons made an epic comeback with Rushmere, their first record in almost seven years, and made it to our list with “Caroline”. Lucy Dacus rocked our world with her latest solo album Forever Is a Feeling, and the Hozier collaboration “Bullseye” is definitely one of its best songs.
This week has been pretty epic for our favorite R&B artists. Coco Jones impressed us with her new single “You”, Ari Lennox kicked off her “Soft Girl Era”, while Jessie Reyez made it to the list with “I Never Said I Was Sane”, from her latest album Paid in Memories.
Check out the rest of our list to discover new music by Perfume Genius, Wallows, Lord Huron, and Little Simz.

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco teased their joint album I Said I Love You First with “Call Me When You Break Up” ft. Gracie Abrams.
Several songs from our list also hail from the week’s most exciting album releases. “Revolving Door” made more buzz than any other song from Tate McRae’s So Close To What, while Sam Fender rocked our world with “Little Bit Closer” from People Watching.
Marina set the stage for her next album with one of our favorite new songs of the week, the sensual lead single “Butterfly”. It was a great week for indie artists overall – Suki Waterhouse, Fontaines DC, Wallows, and Mumford & Sons were also among the artists impressing us with their brand-new songs.

]]>The track saw its debut at Williams’ Louis Vuitton Fall-Winter 2024 Show in Paris on Tuesday, January 16. The trio and Williams got together on stage to perform the track live for 1,300 guests while being joined by The Native Vocalists choir.
Speaking about the collaboration in a chat with GQ magazine, Marcus Mumford said there was “just a lot of mutual respect and admiration” between the band and Williams after they connected through performing at the same festivals throughout the years. After meeting each other again at the Something In the Water festival in early 2023, they decided they should do a song together.
Sharing similar church upbringings and fascination with gospel music, they naturally gravitated to writing a song that contained some of these elements.
“We’d all had experience with that, and it felt like we were ready to write a song that felt quite connected to how we were feeling and reaching into some soulful level,” said Mumford.
Following its live debut, the studio version of “Good People” was also shared on streaming services.

]]>Mumford & Sons haven’t released a new album since Delta in 2018, but Marcus Mumford has been pretty busy in the meantime. He recorded a theme song for the hit Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso and dropped his first solo album Self-Titled, which featured collaborations with Brandi Carlile, Phoebe Bridgers, Clairo, and Monica Martin.
Some thought Mumford’s decision to turn to solo music also means the hiatus for Mumford & Sons, but he dismissed those rumors on several occasions and recently revealed they’ll soon reunite to work on some new music.
“The next thing really is to get in the room with the boys in the band and start playing each other the songs we’ve written. I’ve got a bunch that are kind of ready to go. And then we’ll make a record, and tour it, and get to do what we love,” said Mumford in an interview on Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist.

]]>This music video was choreographed by Kristin Sudeikis, and it features a pair of dancers – Yeman Brown and Stephanie Crousillat. Lead guitarist Winston Marshall came up with the idea for this video after being moved to tears by Brown’s improvised dance routine to Beyoncé’s smash hit “Halo”.
“Woman” was featured on the band’s chart-topping studio album Delta, and this video perfectly embodies its complex nature.
“It’s a little deceptive because the story of the song isn’t the woman. It’s the love between those two people and that’s why the video is clever: It reveals that throughout the song. It’s not something that smacks you in the face the first second of the video, it’s something you learn,” explained Marshall while chatting with Dance Magazine.

]]>The video tells the story of a boy and his mom escaping the hospital to hang out and have fun together in a dreamy sequence. The video is directed by BAFTA-nominated Charlotte Regan and it hits you right in the feels.
The song is lyrically about saying goodbye to someone you love and telling them they they are “beloved” before they go. The video of the pair riding off into the distance with horses having one last hurrah in the boy’s imagination before he says goodbye is heartbreaking.

Frontman Marcus Momford previously said of the track: “Everyone knows loss in one way or another. This song is about that. I’d never sat with anyone as they died before, and it had an effect on me. As it does everyone I know who has experienced it.
“But there’s wildness and beauty in it as well, and a deep honouring, that became the beginnings of this song that we worked up called ‘Beloved’. I feel determined for people to take whatever they want from it, and not to be emotionally prescriptive.”

]]>Delta marks return to form for Mumford & Sons – and their third album to take the top spot on the Billboard chart. The band’s previous records Babel and Wilder Mind did the same, while their debut Sigh No More peaked at number two.
The folk-rock group tried to explore uncharted territory with this ambitious record and play around with different genres along the way.
“This album, for us, is the most varied record we’ve ever done, and there are songs on it where I hear more neo-classical stuff, on the same record as very pop stuff, rock stuff, dance stuff and I think that he’s had the oversight to bring all those things together,” said band member Winston Marshall.
Delta was released on 16 November, with Guiding Light serving as lead single. 230.000 copies have been sold in its first week of release – which just happens to be the record for an alternative rock album in 2018!
