]]>Gallagher posted a video on his Instagram that shows Squire playing guitar throughout the years, including footage from his special guest appearance with Oasis at their iconic Knebworth concert in 1996.
“John Squire without a doubt the best guitarist of his generation and in the world in my opinion,” Gallagher wrote in the caption.
Gallagher also added a link to gallaghersquire.com website, which prompts fans to sign up for a newsletter in order to find out more about his and Squire’s project.
Liam Gallagher and John Squire had plans to collaborate together for a while. Back in 2022, Gallagher said in an interview with Matt Wilkinson on Apple Music 1 that he and Squire are planning a project together but are taking their time.
“He’s my man, I love him. So if he’s got any tunes that need singing, I’m the boy, mate,” said Gallagher at the time.
Gallagher is currently bracing for a tour that will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ seminal album Definitely Maybe. The singer plans to perform all the songs from the album alongside B-sides and rarities.
Squire, on the other hand, has been out of the spotlight since wrapping up a reunion tour with The Stone Roses 2017. His most recent live appearance was at a pair of Gallagher’s Knebworth House concert in 2022.

]]>Lana Del Rey will make her Reading & Leeds Festival debut next year, but she’s no stranger to performing at iconic UK Festivals. She hit the Glastonbury stage earlier this year, but her set caused a lot of controversy after being cut short because she arrived late.
Blink-182 are heading to Reading & Leeds as part of the promo for their recently released comeback album One More Time… It comes only a year after making a surprise appearance at Coachella 2023, serving as a replacement for the headliner Frank Ocean.
The upcoming Reading & Leeds will also mark the debut of the English producer and DJ Fred Again, while the rest of the headlines are somewhat of R&L veterans. Gerry Cinnamon performed at the festival in 2021, Catfish and the Bottlemen headlined it that same year, along with Liam Gallagher, who’s also returning as headliner this year.
Reading & Leeds will return to Little John’s Farm in Reading and Bramham Park near Wetherby from August 21-25, 2024.

]]>Gallagher’s show will be taped by MTV and will broadcast on television on September 23rd.
“I’m honored to be performing at the legendary showcase that is MTV Unplugged,” – Gallagher wrote on social media announcing the gig. “I’d love it if you could join us as it’s sure to be a biblical evening.”
Liam Gallagher is expected to play a mix of his solo tracks and Oasis classics during the show, while also premiering some of the songs from his upcoming second studio album Why Me? Why Not. The record is scheduled to be released on September 20th with Gallagher previously sharing album’s first two singles “Shockwave” and “The River” back in June.
MTV Unplugged debuted back in 1989 and features music artists playing shows in intimate venues using acoustic instruments. The series was made famous by acts like Eric Clapton, Nirvana, and Pearl Jam, whose Unplugged shows were released as live albums and achieved both commercial and critical success. Clapton’s MTV Unplugged album, released in 1992, sold 26 million copies worldwide to date and remains the best-selling live album in music history.

]]>Gallagher announced earlier this year that he would be releasing his second solo album Why Me? Why Not later this year. The album, which sounds like it will edgier and heavier than Oasis ever were, will be released September 20.
Gallagher recently shared his single “Shockwave” which became his second highest-charting solo hit in the UK, peaking one place lower than his comeback hit, “Wall of Glass”.
Now, it appears that the Brit-pop legend has teased the titled of his tracks via a series of capitalized tweets.
Given that the run of Tweets kicked off with “Shockwave”, it’s safe to assume that the words collectively make up the tracks of the coming album.
That means that the tracklist looks a little something like this:

]]>In an interview with NME, the director shared his feelings about Gallagher’s upcoming album and shared his favorite tracks on the record.
“It’s a continuation of As You Were,” Lightening told NME. “If you look at Definitely Maybe and What’s The Story (Morning Glory)?, one’s the more punkier one and one’s the bigger one, you know what I mean? That’s progression. It’s someone in the prime of it all. People aren’t gonna be disappointed with it. I think it’s gonna blow people away.”
He also revealed that the forthcoming lead single on the album is his favorite track by Liam Gallagher so far.
He said: “I think it’s way better than Wall Of Glass. It hits you harder. [The album] is a continuation of As You Were but it’s just that bit bigger –if you’re doing something for the second time, you’ve got more confidence behind you.
“The first single is so catchy – the middle-eight on it is just mega and then it goes into a massive chorus. It’s brilliant.”

]]>The film will tell the story of Liam Gallagher’s life post-Oasis years. It will include unseen footage of his last headlining tour for his debut album As You Were. The teaser doesn’t give much away but gives us a feel of the film’s full-on flavor.

According to the synopsis, the documentary “tells the honest and emotional story of how one of the most electrifying rock’n’roll frontmen went from the dizzying heights of his champagne supernova years in Oasis to living on the edge, ostracised and lost in the musical wilderness of booze, notoriety and bitter legal battles. Starting again alone, stripped bare and with nowhere to hide, Liam risks everything to make the greatest comeback of all time.”

As It Was will be released in cinemas June 7.

“I know for a fact, deep down, he wants to be playing stadiums… You can only play stadiums when I’m there,” he added. “I don’t think our kid’s got it in him anymore, anyway. It seems to me like he’s playing to the snobs and the world and the toffs.”
Both brothers have been doing well since Oasis disbanded in 2009. Noel Gallagher released three albums with his accompanying band the High Flying Birds, with each one of them peaking at number one of the UK Charts. Liam, on the other hand, after a failed experiment with the Beady Eye, released a solo album in 2017 titled As You Were. The album proved to be a smashing hit, debuting at number one in the UK and even outselling his brother’s new release Who Built the Moon?.
While Liam would most likely reform the band in a heartbeat, Noel consistently claims that won’t happen.
“I’ve been very consistent about it,” Noel said last year. “I don’t need the money, I don’t need the glory, I don’t need to relive the memories. If I was to get Oasis back together tomorrow and then do a tour, I’d have a hundred million dollars in the bank but I’d have learnt f** all. I’d have actually wasted a year of being in the studio with a person like David Holmes. It would be the death of me as a person.”
