]]>This week has been pretty slow for major album releases, but that didn’t stop our favorite alternative artists from sharing new music with the world. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’ Wild God is the week’s best new album, and we singled out “Joy” as its best new song.
This week also marked the release of Big Sean’s Better Me Than You, which produced many great collaborations, including “It Is What It Is” ft. Gunna. Muni Long impressed us with the title single from her new album Revenge, while Kehlani dropped “When He’s Not There” ft. Lucky Daye from her latest mixtape While We Wait 2.
Several more amazing collaborations made it to our list, including “SOS (S-x on Sight)” by Victoria Monét and Usher, “Vivo Por Ella” by Andrea Bocelli and Karol G, and “Summer Drop” by Cordae and Anderson .Paak.
Check out our list in full to also discover amazing brand-new tunes by Paris Paloma, Noah Kahan, and James Bay.

]]>Several major artists chose June 21 as the release date of their new albums, starting with Kehlani, who knocked us off our feet with Crash. It was also a great week for Gracie Abrams, who released her sophomore album The Secret of Us, and stirred quite a commotion with the A-list collaboration “Us.” feat. Taylor Swift.
It was a great week for amazing collaborations overall, and quite a few made it to our list. Maren Morris and Julia Michaels proved they’re a match made in heaven with “Cut!”, while Jamie xx and Robyn joined forces for “Life”.
It’s also been a great week for remixes of songs we already know and love. Ariana Grande did the most meta thing ever and invited Brandy and Monica to hop on a remix of “The Boy is Mine”, while Charli XCX recorded a new version of “Girl, So Confusing” alongside Lorde.
Check out the rest of our list to discover new music by Coldplay, Lola Young, Suki Waterhouse, and The Japanese House.

]]>The rising country star Shaboozey created a lot of buzz for his new album Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going with his breakout hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”. This isn’t the only amazing new song on his new LP, and “My Fault” ft. Noah Cyrus is also worth the listen.
Several more artists dropped new albums this week, giving us amazing new songs along the way. The Marías made the cut with “Echo” from Submarine, while Ayra Starr impressed us with “Last Heartbreak Song” ft. Giveon from The Year I Turned 21.
The rest of our list mostly consists of artists teasing their upcoming albums with new singles. Kehlani gave us a taste of Crash with “Next 2 U”, Normani shared another dose of Dopamine with “Candy Paint”, while Snow Patrol announced a new album The Forest Is the Path and teased their new sound with “The Beginning”.
Check out the rest of our list and discover new songs by Foster the People, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Disclosure, and Roddy Ricch.

]]>Kehlani, who prefers using they/them pronouns, teased Crash by sharing its title, release date, and album cover, which sees the singer sitting on top of a wrecked car, with glass shattered all around them. Atlantic Records will release this album on June 21.
Kehlani gave us a taste of things to come with the lead single “After Hours”, which was released on April 4. It sees her embracing a carefree new sound and samples Nina Sky’s 2004 hit “Move Ya Body”.
This song encapsulates the spirit of the entire album and sees Kehlani crafting music that strays from pain, embracing joyful new themes and sound.
“Coming out of this pandemic to global tragedy to global tragedy to global tragedy, I was like I’m not really in a space to make something that feels super jarring or super sad. I’m very outspoken about these things, but I want my art to provide some kind of life and fun,” they told Zane Lowe.

]]>Most of the songs on our list hail from the exciting new albums that hit the shelves on April 5. J. Cole took his fans off guard with the surprise release of his latest mixtape Might Delete Later, which produced 12 new songs, including “7 Minute Drill”.
Vampire Weekend finally shared their first album in five years, Only God Was Above Us, this Friday and promoted its release with “Prep-School Gangsters”. The Black Keys also returned with a new LP Ohio Players, and “On the Game” emerged as one of its best new songs.
Several rising stars weren’t threatened by Friday’s busy release schedule, and they shared new music with the world. Benson Boone’s debut album Fireworks & Rollerblades produced a new single “Cry”, while Lizzy McAlpine rocked our world with “Drunk, Running” from Older.
Our list also features several songs that serve as the promo for new albums of our favorite artists. Charli XCX dropped “B2b” from Brat, Sia joined forces with Labrinth for “Incredible” from Reasonable Woman, while Glass Animals announced their new album I Love You So F***ing Much and promoted it with lead single “Creatures in Heaven”.

]]>Selena Gomez took the world by storm when she dropped not one, but two self-love anthems back in October, and embraced both the beauty and the hearbreak of letting go of the past.
2019 gave us more empowering songs than we can count, but “Not 20 Anymore” is one of the very few that celebrates the grace and confidence that come with growing older.
Any of Lizzo’s songs falls under the category of girl power anthem, but the line “if I’m shinin’, everybody gonna shine” will forever remind us how important it is to lift others up, as well.
After hearing countless songs about love and heartbreak, Kehlani finally gave us one that says it’s totally fine to be single and fully enjoy your own company.
Halsey’s “Nightmare” is one of the most unique girl power songs we’ve heard in 2019, because it celebrates the feminine rage in a way we haven’t seen in any other track this year.
