Lorde wasn’t the only artist setting the stage for her next studio album by dropping new music this week. “Down To Be Wrong” was released as the latest single from Haim’s I Quit, Arcade Fire dropped the title song from their next album Pink Elephant, while PinkPantheress set the stage for her mixtape Fancy That with “Stateside”.
This week has also given us several new albums worthy of your attention. Coco Jones’s debut studio album Why Not More? produced several great songs, including “On Sight”, d4vd promoted the release of Withered with the music video for “Is This Really Love?”, while Ghost set the stage for the release of Skeletá with “Peacefield”.

]]>This Friday marked the release of Charli XCX’s long-awaited remix album Brat and It’s Completely Different but Also Still Brat. This album brought new versions of several beloved Brat songs our way, but none created more buzz than “Sympathy is a Knife” featuring Ariana Grande.
It’s been a great week for new album releases overall. Jelly Roll made it to our list with “Winning Streak” from Beautifully Broken, while Samara Joy made the cut with “Reincarnation Of A Lovebird” from Portrait. Several songs on our list were also taken from deluxe versions of hit albums, including Coldplay’s “The Karate Kid” and Tyla’s “Push 2 Start”.
Many artists have also teased their upcoming album with amazing new songs this week. Halsey is teasing the release of The Great Impersonator by dressing up as a different music icon every day, and she added more fuel to the fire with the release of “I Never Loved You”. The Cure also set the stage for their upcoming album Songs of a Lost World with a new song “A Fragile Thing”.

]]>Season 50 of the iconic sketch comedy will kick off on September 28, with host Jean Smart and musical guest Jelly Roll. The country star is gearing up for the release of his new album Beautifully Broken, which he promoted with singles “I Am Not Okay” and “Get By”.
Comedian Nate Bargatze will take the SNL stage on October 5 alongside Coldplay, who are fresh off their record-breaking Music of the Spheres World Tour and setting the stage for their new album Moon Music.
Ariana Grande will also be a part of Season 50, but she’ll be hosting this time around, while the rock legend Stevie Nicks will join her as a musical guest on October 12.
Billie Eilish will return to Studio 8H on October 19 with the host Michael Keaton, after a series of tour dates at the Madison Square Garden this fall. Chappell Roan will make her SNL debut alongside John Mulaney on November 2, after blowing up this summer with viral hits “Hot To Go!” and “Good Luck, Babe!”

]]>Jelly Roll was one of the main contenders for the main awards of the night – video of the year. His megahit “Need a Favor” defeated Cody Johnson’s “The Painter” and Kelsea Ballerini’s “If You Go Down (I’m Goin’ Down Too)” to take the trophy home.
“Need a Favor” also won the trophy for the male video of the year and Jolly Roll won a prize for the CMT performance of the year for his rendition of this song at the last year’s ceremony.
Jelly Roll is no stranger to dominating CMT Music Awards, and he also walked away with three trophies last year, including male video of the year for “Son of a Sinner”. He’s the first artist to win back-to-back awards in this category since Blake Shelton in 2013/14.
The CMT Music Video Awards took place at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas on April 7, with Kelsea Ballerini returning as a host.

This song ended up winning three trophies, including the best male video of the year, male breakthrough video of the year, and CMT digital-first performance of the year.
As for Wilson, she was the ceremony’s most-nominated artist with four nods, and she managed to walk away with two trophies. In addition to winning the best female video of the year with “Heart Like A Truck”, she also won the award for the best collaborative video of the year for “Wait in the Truck” alongside Hardy.
