]]>Lil Yachty teased the release of his collaborative album Bad Cameo in a clip shared on social media and explained how his partnership with Blake came to be.
“I think James has worked with a quite substantial amount of hip hop artists, but this project is so left for both of us. Then, aside from the one picture that James posted, which he doesn’t have many followers actually, I don’t think people know that we know each other exist,” he explained.
Blake seemingly confirmed the news by reposting Lil Yachty’s video, in addition to sharing several articles announcing their partnership. His last studio album Playing Robots into Heaven came out last year and produced singles “Big Hammer”, “Loading”, and “Tell Me”.
Lil Yachty has recently teased collaborations with several other artists, including Fred Again and Overmono, plus “When We Die (Can We Still Get High?)” ft. Yungblud. He also experimented with different genres, including psychedelic rock and funk, on his last album Let’s Start Here.

]]>No album this week created more buzz than Olivia Rodrigo’s highly-anticipated sophomore effort Guts. Each song from this brilliant LP became a fan favorite in its own right, but we’ve picked “All-American B—h” as the album’s best new track.
Competing with Rodrigo for the top spot on the next week’s chart is a mission impossible, but that didn’t stop several artists from trying. Friday also marked the release of new albums by Tinashe, Laufey, and James Blake, among others, and we made room for some of their best new songs on this week’s list.
This week also marked a huge comeback for the legendary rockers The Rolling Stones. They teased the release of their first album of the original material in almost two decades, titled Hackney Diamonds, and dropped its first single “Angry”.
Our list of the best songs of the week also includes new music by Metric, Portugal. The Man, Marshmello, Dove Cameron, and many more, so stick around and give them a chance!

]]>Travis Scott’s Utopia is definitely the week’s most anticipated new release, and it’s given us more epic collaborations than we can count. Scott even managed to bring Beyonce on board, and gave us one of the album’s best songs with “Delresto (Echoes)”.
Post Malone also knocked it out of the park with his self-titled new album Austin, and we opted for “Enough is Enough” as its best new song. The English pop star Anne-Marie also dropped a new album this Friday, and her Khalid collaboration “You & I” made it to our list.
This week has been amazing for hip-hop releases, starting with “Jealousy” by Offset & Cardi B, but we also made sure to include some songs that don’t fall under this genre. From Mitski’s “Bug Like an Angel” and The Kills’ “New York” to “Desire” by Calvin Harris and Sam Smith, there’s something for everyone on our list of the best songs of the week.

]]>Blake took to Twitter to complain about a tweet from Billboard regarding an interview he gave them. Billboard’s tweet read: “Backstage at ACL Music Festival, @jamesblake discusses his latest album ‘Assume Form,’ how his girlfriend Jameela Jamil inspired the record, and teases new music. #ACLFest”
“Not just inspired it – she actually worked on it,” Blake wrote back on his account. “I even said it in the interview, but people focus on ‘inspired’ because the idea of the ‘muse’ is so romantic and pervasive.”
The aforementioned album is Blake’s fourth which he released back in January and it made No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. According to him, Jamil had a much more active role in the creation of the album than simply “inspiring” it.
“Women who help their partners with their album, being a sounding board and often their only emotional support during the process, almost invariably go uncredited,” Blake went on to say in a follow-up tweet.
Jamil is currently starring on NBC’s critically-acclaimed The Good Place which started its fourth and final season just a few weeks ago.

]]>Nabil Elderkin directed this harrowing video, which opens with Blake stirring a cup of tea at the Mile High
James Blake previously contributed to Scott’s song “Stop Trying to Be God” and went on to describe him as an exceptionally talented musician. It was just a matter of time before the two joined forces again, and he eventually decided “Mile High” is the perfect track for their next collaboration. The single is part of Blake latest album, Assume Form.
“He basically came in and did it in one take. I found it so impressive how much range he has. He’d just released ‘Astroworld’, which is like banger after banger, and then he comes and does this really vulnerable, sweet love song,” said Blake.
