]]>Bailey recently sat down with Cosmopolitan for an in-depth interview, where she discussed everything from her roles in The Little Mermaid and The Color Purple to her career as a solo artist. She previously found success as a member of the Grammy-nominated duo Chloe x Halle alongside her sister Chloe Bailey, but she’s finally ready to fly solo.
Halle’s debut solo single “Angel” came out earlier this summer, but that’s just the beginning. The 23-year-old singer told Cosmopolitan that she’s planning to share her first solo EP by the end of 2023, which will chronicle “a really beautiful transformative time” of her life.
“I have all this new material to write about. I was very creatively inspired, and then from there, I fell in love. And so I really just played with those themes in my music. Sound-wise, it’s a little modern R&B-ish, with all the jazz elements and hints of pop that I love,” she explained.

]]>After finding success as a part of Chloe x Halle and starring in The Little Mermaid, Halle Bailey is finally ready to fly solo. Her debut solo single “Angel” was worth waiting for, and we’re looking forward to seeing what she does next after its release.
Doja Cat also created a lot of buzz with her new single “Paint the Town Red”, and used its lyrics to address her recent erratic behavior on social media. It’s been a great week for R&B and hip-hop releases overall, with Jorja Smith and Saweetie surprising us with some new music, as well.
Bebe Rexha and David Guetta also prepared a special treat for their fans, after giving us one of the songs of the summer with “I’m Good (Blue)”. Their latest collaboration “One in a Million” is just as catchy and it proves they’re a match made in heaven.
Our list also includes new music from Post Malone, Usher, and Summer Walker, so get ready to end your week on a high note!

]]>The heavenly video for Bailey’s new song was directed by Wendy Morgan, and it lives up to its title. Bailey looks truly angelic in a series of all-white outfits while singing and dancing along to the song’s lyrics and climbing stairs that lead to the sky. The video closes with archival footage that takes us back to the singer’s childhood, showcasing her early performances.
Bailey said that this song is very near and dear to her heart and that it helped her see things more clearly after finding herself in the “bubble of all these eyes and new opinions” set on her in the past few years.
“This song for me was my climb out of those feelings, a mantra and promise to myself that the work I’m doing here on earth matters and that I matter. I wanted to be able to embrace and be proud of myself and who I am naturally through and through,” she explained in a statement.
Before releasing “Angel”, Bailey found success as a part of the R&B duo Chloe x Halle with her sister Chloe, who released her debut studio album In Pieces earlier this year.
