Glastonbury is one of the most highly-anticipated music festivals of the year, and its next lineup will be as good as it gets. Guns N’ Roses, Lizzo, and Arctic Monkeys will join Elton John as headliners at the upcoming edition of the iconic British festival.

Guns N’ Roses, Lizzo, and Arctic Monkeys will top the bill at this year’s Glastonbury, but the lineup includes many more exciting acts. Lana Del Rey, Lil Nas X, Manic Street Preachers, Wizkid, and Blondie are also the newly announced acts to perform at Glastonbury.

Sunday afternoon’ “legend slot”, which usually draws in the biggest audience, has been reserved for Yusuf aka Cat Stevens, who’ll be following in the footsteps of Dolly Parton and Diana Ross.

Guns N’ Roses, Lizzo, and Arctic Monkeys are joining Elton John, who was announced as the headliner all the way back in December. His performance will close the festival at the Pyramid Stage on Sunday night and it will mark the final UK show of Elton’s last-ever tour.

Glastonbury Festival will return to Pilton, Summerset between June 21 and June 25, and you can check out the full lineup below. More acts and attractions are yet to be announced.

Guns N’ Roses gave us one of their most memorable and emotional songs with “Sweet Child O’ Mine” in 1988, and the world hasn’t stopped listening ever since. Over three decades later, this song reached one billion views on YouTube, becoming the first track from the ‘80s to do so.

“Sweet Child O’ Mine” was one of the first songs that put this legendary band on the map. It was featured on their debut album Appetite for Destruction, alongside hit singles “Welcome to the Jungle” and “Paradise City”, but it resonated better with the audience.

Guns N’ Roses dropped many hit tracks in the years to come, but none of them really echoed its success. “Sweet Child O’ Mine” managed to top Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming band’s one and only single to reach this coveted spot.

Axl Rose discussed its backstory in the book The Girl in the Song: The Real Stories Behind 50 Rock Classics, and explained how it revealed the band’s sensitive side.

“A lot of rock bands are too wimpy to have any sentiment or any emotion in any of their stuff unless they are in pain. ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ is the first positive love song I’ve ever written, but I never had anyone to write anything about before,” said Rose of the song.

The 1991 Guns and Roses’ track You Could Be Mine will always be linked to the Terminator franchise after it appeared on Terminator 2: Judgment Day as well as in 2009s Terminator: Salvation. For that reason, fans were enthusiastic when rumors that the upcoming Terminator movie, Terminator: Dark Fate will include a new song from the veteran hard rock band.

Now, guitarist Slash made an end to those rumors.

“There’s nothing in the Terminator movie, by the way,” slash said in an interview on Trunk Nation. “These rumors, they take off and then they get a life of their own and you can’t reel ‘em in. They just sort of getting tossed around in the wind. Anyway… yeah, so there’s nothing in there.”

The guitarist said that the band is doing shows in the states now and they have a few dates in Mexico until November and then they have few shows lined up in March. “Obviously, everybody knows that we’re working on new material, which is really exciting; and so that’s primarily what the focus is.”

It looks like Guns N’ Roses have no intention to finish their Not In This Lifetime Tour anytime soon. The American rockers have decided to extend their trip across the U.S. into the fall and recently announced a bunch of headlining shows.

The tour will kick off in Charlotte on September 25th, and will see the band playing shows in Jacksonville, Oklahoma City and Salt Lake City among other cities, before wrapping up the trip with pair of shows in Las Vegas’ The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

“Guns N’ Roses is bringing their outrageously successful Not in This Lifetime Tour back to the U.S this fall – and for the first time in 2019,” said the band in a statement. “With fans hungry for more GNR, today the band revealed eight new dates across the United States, kicking off Sept. 25 in Charlotte, N.C.”

Following the end of this U.S. leg of the tour, Guns N’ Roses are expected to head to the studio and work on their new studio album. This was confirmed by the group’s lead guitarist Slash in a recent interview.

“When we finish the tour in the fall then we will commit to working on the next Guns record,” Slash told 101 WRIF’s DJ Meltdown in early June.

A Guns N’ Roses album has been anticipated for quite some time but it turns out that the rock group is only “just getting started.”

Earlier this year, legendary guitarist Slash revealed that a new album was in the works and that the band had enough songs to make the record. Now, he has revealed that it could be quite sometime before the record is actually complete. He also clarified that his previous comments were distorted.

“No, you know, by the time it gets to the place where anybody’s read it, it’s morphed into something more than what I directly said,” he told Rock Cellar Magzine. “There is material that Axl’s been working on for a while. It could be enough for a record if we put it all together.”

He continued: “Everybody’s got demos, and everybody’s got material, and this that and the other, for whatever it could be. It’s just a matter of us focusing on it. So it’s really hard to answer questions on the next Guns thing.”

Guns N’ Roses have not released anything together since 2008’s
Chinese Democracy. The upcoming album is therefore highly anticipated by fans.

Guns N’ Roses have teased fans about releasing a new album for some time now, but the band wasn’t willing to go into details about these efforts.

Well, until now.

The group’s guitarist Slash recently had a chat with 101 WRIF’s DJ Meltdown, and confirmed Guns N’ Roses will enter the studio and work on the new record after wrapping up their current tour in fall. The band’s last show is scheduled for October 13th at the Exit 111 Festival.

“After those Guns dates we’ll be working on the record,” said Slash. “When we finish the tour in the fall then we will commit to working on the next Guns record.”

Although he initially didn’t want to follow this up with more details, Slash ended up sharing that Guns N’ Roses have “already started working” on new music.

“The thing is, we haven’t really done anything yet, and I don’t like to say anything. You know how people used to promote s**t and lie through their teeth?” he added. “So I just wanted to be honest about it, and so there was really no telling what we were gonna do at that point. But at this point, I do know that we are gonna do this run [of shows in the fall], and we’ve already started working on stuff. So, there you go.”

After almost two decades, Slash and bassist Duff McKagan got back together with singer Axl Rose and keyboardist Dizzy Reed, partially reuniting the classical Guns N’ Roses’ lineup. The group embarked on a Not In This Lifetime tour in 2016 and ended up playing 159 shows in 41 countries with more to go.

AC/DC superfan Slash is pleased to hear that the band is coming together to make new music.

Earlier this year, Brian Johnson confirmed that a new album is in the works and that he will be providing the vocals. This is great news for all AC/DC but Guns ‘N’ Roses guitarist Slash seems to be the most excited about the news.

Speaking with Consequence of Sound, he said: “Where do I start? AC/DC is bar none, with the exception of the [Rolling] Stones, the greatest rock ‘n’ roll band ever. The Stones will always come first for me and then AC/DC. There are no other bands that actually play that brand of really ’50s-influenced straight-up rock ‘n’ roll like AC/DC. I love them for that.

“I think Phil Rudd is one of the best drummers of all time. So anytime he was not in the band, I was always disappointed. But it’s great that Cliff [Williams is] going to be back because I remember being backstage with those guys at the end of the last tour and him saying that he was gone and that he was retired. So it’s great that everybody’s back, but it’s especially awesome that Brian [Johnson] is back.”

There is currently no release date for the new AC/DC album but watch this space.
