]]>John discussed his plans for the future with English singer SG Lewis during a recent episode of his Apple Music radio show Rocket Hour and teased a couple of exciting collaborations.
“I’ve just done something with Metallica [and] during this lockdown period I’ve been working with Gorillaz and people like that. I haven’t been doing any Elton stuff, I’ve been doing great stuff with other people,” said the “Rocket Man” singer.
Elton John is no stranger to collaborating with heavy metal acts, and one of his latest collaborations came in the form of Ozzy Osbourne’s “Ordinary Man”. He’s also expected to appear on Miley Cyrus’ album of Metallica covers, also featuring Yo-Yo Ma and Chad Smith. While discussing this project with Capital FM, the former Disney star revealed he played the piano for her version of the band’s smash hit “Nothing Else Matters”.

]]>In an interview with NME, Noodle from Gorillaz spoke about the records that “changed her life” and “filled her with fury” as well as what song she wants played at her funeral. Her answer to the latter was none other than rock legends Queen.
“Either ‘Who Wants To Live Forever’ by Queen, or Mozart’s ‘Requiem Mass in D Minor,’” she said about her funeral song. “Can I have both? I like the duality of joy and sadness that defines us as humans, first in life and then in the memories we leave behind for others.
“There was actually a memorial service for me when everyone thought I was dead after the ‘El Manana’ video. Murdoc performed Ozzy Osborne’s ‘See You On The Other Side’ in nothing but a pair of leather wings and full skull makeup. I’m honestly glad I missed it.”
As for the records that “changed her life”, these include The Who, Silver Apples, Talking Heads and Biggie Smalls to name a few. And the records she hates? Noodle can’t stand “Anything insincere and badly played. Or by Muse.”

]]>The newest additions include British pop sensation Dua Lipa, Australian legend Nick Cave with his band The Bad Seeds, alongside Interpol, and Massive Attack. Previously announced acts for this year’s festival include Eminem, Gorillaz, Nine Inch Nails, St Vincent, and David Byrne.
“It’s a fantastic feeling to be able to present a line-up that offers iconic additions such as Nick Cave and Massive Attack as well as popstar Dua Lipa,” said Roskilde Festival’s Head of Program Anders Wahrén in a statement. “Together with an arts program that includes genre-defying highlights from Chelsea Manning to a giant anti-capitalist serpent and a highly unfair football pitch, there is so much to explore at Roskilde Festival 2018. It is exactly this sort of diversity, activism, and curiosity we are looking for when putting together the program.”
