]]>The performance was filmed in South Korea and in addition to the several songs from their November 2020 album Be (Deluxe Edition), the band did a surprise cover of Coldplay’s “Fix You”.
Before the performance of Coldplay’s song, Jimin shared that the song gave them “comfort” during difficult times and they “wanted to prepare this cover to comfort [their fans] as well.”
The K-Pop band was seated on stools and the song showcased their strong harmonies and the group’s trio of rappers gave bass notes to back the singers. The performance was stripped back and angelic with a highlight being RM, Jin, and Jimin effortlessly pulling off a three-part harmony.
In addition to “Fix You”, the 30-minute, five-song performance included “Dynamite”, “Blue & Grey”, “Telepathy”, and “Live Goes On”.
Other highlights of the performance were the band sharing the inspiration behind “Telepathy”, the emotions behind “Blue & Grey”, the impressive five sets and five wardrobe changes, and the band’s inspiring goodbye message..

]]>“Thank you @Coldplay for writing such a beautiful song,” Smith wrote along with a clip of him singing the song on Instagram.
“I love this song, and as soon as I heard it I was just reminded again of how much of a classic it is,” Smith said of the cover before they performed it.
During the coronavirus, Smith said they’ve “fallen in love with singing again,” and that they loving singing songs that aren’t their own.
Back in May, Smith released a collab with Demi Lovato, “I’m Ready,” and announced in March that their third album, To Die For, would be pushed back from its original May 1 release date. This album’s release date hasn’t been rescheduled, but Smith said it should debut later this year.
