]]>The brother-sister duo was an obvious front-runner for this prestigious award after winning a slew of other trophies for writing the latest James Bond theme song. This victory comes shortly after they managed to pick up a Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Movie Award in the same category. “No Time To Die” was also rewarded with a Grammy Award for the best song written for visual media.
Eilish and O’Connell managed to beat a tough competition on Sunday night, including “Be Alive” from King Richard by Beyoncé, “Dos Oruguitas” from Encanto by Lin-Manuel Miranda, “Down to Joy” from Belfast by Van Morrison, and “Somehow You Do” from Four Good Days by Diane Warren.
Van Morrison’s “Down to Joy” was the only song not performed during the live broadcast because the artist couldn’t attend the ceremony due to his tour schedule. Beyoncé was in charge of opening the ceremony with “Be Alive”, while the cast of Encanto delighted the audience with a performance of smash hit “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” alongside Megan Thee Stallion, Becky G, and Luis Fonsi.

The chart-topping soundtrack of Disney’s Encanto is also on the list of nominees, but not with the song you would expect. “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” was never even submitted for the awards consideration, and “Dos Oruguitas” written by Lin-Manuel Miranda was nominated instead.
The list of nominees for the best song also includes “Down to Joy” from Belfast by Van Morrison and “Somehow You Do” from Four Good Days by Diane Warren. When it comes to the best original score category, Don’t Look Up, Dune, Encanto, Parallel Mothers, and The Power of the Dog will be competing for this award.
The 2022 Academy Awards are scheduled to take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 27th.

]]>Eilish’s new self-directed video sees her taking a ride by her brother’s side, but they don’t get to enjoy scenic California streets for too long. The video ends with the young singer driving the car straight into the ocean, and being swallowed up by darkness while holding Finneas’ hand.
The brother-sister duo wrote “Everything I Wanted” together, and they drew inspiration from their own relationship, and one of Eilish’s worst nightmares described at the very begging of the song.
“My brother and I wrote this song about each other and I wanted to create a visual that emphasizes that no matter what, we’ll be there for each other through everything. This is the second video I’ve directed of mine. We worked so hard, for hours and hours on end,” the young singer said in a statement.

“I think if you’re not trying to change things a little bit, you’re not evolving. So I think we’re just trying to embrace everything that we are proud of in our music and also just try new things and experiment and give people stuff to look forward to,” said Finneas.
Eilish and O’Connell co-wrote all of the songs on her debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? and he ended up scoring five Grammy nominations this year thanks to their collaboration, while his sister received six.
