]]>“We Didn’t Start the Fire” originally came out in 1989, and covered major news events that took place from 1949, the year of Billy Joel’s birth. 34 years passed since then, and Fall Out Boy felt it was finally time to release a new version that hits closer to home for modern audiences.
“All these important people and events – some that disappeared into the sands of time- others that changed the world forever. So much has happened in the span of the last 34 years- we felt like a little system update might be fun. Hope you like our take on it…” said FOB bassist Pete Wentz in a statement.
In addition to referencing many historical events that shaped the past three decades, Fall Out Boy’s new version is filled with countless pop culture references. They named dropped many music stars, including Taylor Swift and Kanye West, addressed the passing of Kurt Cobain, Michael Jackson, and Prince, and claimed that “YouTube killed MTV”.

]]>The pop-punk band announced their new project called Crynyl, a limited-edition vinyl infused with the artist’s real tears. They’ll test the waters with their latest album So Much (for) Stardust by rolling out 50 copies, paired with a built-in, fully functional tissue dispenser.
It sure sounds like a wild idea, but the first pressing has already been sold out, but they launched a whole Crynyl website, hinting there’s more on the way.
“Music is more than just sound waves. It’s passion, struggle, and emotion. That’s why we developed a new kind of record: one that contains the artists’ actual tears. When you listen to a Crynyl release, you’re not just listening to what the artist played, you’re feeling what they felt,” reads Crynyl’s official website.
Fall Out Boy’s latest studio album So Much (for) Stardust hit the shelves on March 24, and produced singles “Love from the Other Side”, “Heartbreak Feels So Good”, and “Hold Me Like a Grudge”. They’ll go back to touring on June 21, alongside Bring Me the Horizon, The Academy Is…, and Alkaline Trio.

]]>This week marked the release of new albums by Måneskin and Trippie Redd, so it’s not a shocker they made it to our list. Trippie Redd teased Mansion Musik by dropping a music video for “Atlantis” ft. Chief Keef, but “Fully Loaded” ft. Future and Lil Baby made a bigger impression on us.
Måneskin has given us 17 songs on their third studio album Rush! and they all deserve a spot on our list, but we’re going with “Bla Bla” since we got to hear four singles before the album hit the shelves, including “Gossip” ft. Tom Morello from last week.
This week has been amazing for alternative releases overall, with new songs from The National and Boygenius hitting the shelves. Fall Out Boy also made an epic comeback this week and teased their new album So Much (for) Stardust with lead single “Love from the Other Side”.
There are a few more surprises on our list, so check it out and get ready to listen to some amazing new songs on repeat!

]]>The two-minute video was made in collaboration with the animator Mr. Oz and it’s one of the quirkiest things you’ll see all day. It features everything from stars descending from the sky to a dog embarking on an adventure of a lifetime after being swallowed by an alien.
This video isn’t Fall Out Boy’s first attempt to tease their return. Just last month, they took out an ad in the Chicago Tribune to tease a new logo for “FOB 8” followed by the words, “If you build it, they will come” against a black background.
Shortly after that, they also sent postcards to fans with the title “Pink Seashell Beach”, reading a cryptic message: “I saw you in a bright clear field. Hurricane heat in my head. The kind of pain you feel to get good in the end. Inscribed like stone and faded by the rain: ‘Give up what you love give up what you love before it does you in…’”
The band also launched two websites to tease their new album, dubbed “sending my love from the other side” and “sending my love from pink seashell beach”, but we’re yet to learn if any of them represent the names of the actual songs.

]]>Green Day’s frontman Billie Joe Armstrong talked to Zane Lowe on Beats 1 about how this surprising project came to be: “It’s kind of a Green Day idea. […] We talked about how we weren’t really wanting to do stadiums and do something that was like throwback to Monsters of Rock Tour. There was, of course, Fall Out Boy and Weezer and now we’re stoked.”
Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy added his own perspective: “To me, I remember, in the 90s, there was this one summer, and Guns and Roses, Metallica went on the stadium tour and my parents didn’t let me go to it. You want to recreate that memory.”
Hints about the joint tour were popping up on social media for the last several weeks, with members of the bands tagging each other with cryptic messages, a mysterious HellaMegaTour.com site and even mislabeled merchandise being sent out to fans.
To celebrate the announcement going official, all three bands have released new songs. All signs are pointing to 2020’s Hella Mega Tour being an event no pop-punker would want to miss!
