Dido returned to our lives with her fifth studio album and managed to impress music experts. She may no longer be standing shoulder to shoulder with some of the biggest pop stars working today, but her latest studio effort still did pretty well on independent albums charts.
The jury is still out on this one, but don’t expect Carly Rae Jepsen to give you another “Call Me Maybe”. The days of catchy poppy tunes are long behind her, and her fourth studio album is her most mature one to date.

]]>Dee Adams and the Australian duo the Opposite Kids were in charge of writing this single. Dido immediately fell in love with the lyrics, because they were close to her heart. “It’s a good break up song, where you’ve been hurt but feel strong. It’s that point in a relationship where you are pulling yourself out of the gutter and deciding that it’s their loss. Which I can totally relate to,” explained Dido.
“Give You Up” will be featured on her upcoming album Still on My Mind. The whole record carries dance and electronic vibe, but it will also display Dido’s love for hip hop and folk music. It will drop on March 8, and feature a total of 12 songs, including promotional singles “Hurricane” and “Friends”.

]]>The 11-dates North America part of the tour will kick off in Chicago on June 13th and is scheduled to wrap up in Seattle on June 30th.
“I spent a lot of time saying no to that question [of touring],” Dido told Billboard. “But as an artist and a songwriter, you start really missing being right in front of the people who listen to your music. It makes you a better writer and artist to actually engage with the people who listen to your music — it’s all fundamental.”
Dido had several collaborators on Still on My Mind including Rollo Armstrong, the founding member of the electronic music group Faithless and her brother.
“It was simple, I only wanted to make another album if it was with him.” – the 46-year-old singer said in a statement. “It was made in such an easy way, all the vocals recorded on the sofa, a lot of it recorded at home.”
As a preview of the record, Dido shared a track titled “Hurricanes.”
