Vampire Weekend finally shared their first album in five years, Only God Was Above Us, this Friday and promoted its release with “Prep-School Gangsters”. The Black Keys also returned with a new LP Ohio Players, and “On the Game” emerged as one of its best new songs.
Several rising stars weren’t threatened by Friday’s busy release schedule, and they shared new music with the world. Benson Boone’s debut album Fireworks & Rollerblades produced a new single “Cry”, while Lizzy McAlpine rocked our world with “Drunk, Running” from Older.
Our list also features several songs that serve as the promo for new albums of our favorite artists. Charli XCX dropped “B2b” from Brat, Sia joined forces with Labrinth for “Incredible” from Reasonable Woman, while Glass Animals announced their new album I Love You So F***ing Much and promoted it with lead single “Creatures in Heaven”.

]]>“Beautiful Things” was released in January as the lead single from Boone’s debut album Fireworks & Rollerblades. He did a great job promoting it on Instagram and TikTok, and his fans immediately resonated with its message about the volatility of happiness.
“Beautiful Things” has been steadily climbing up the UK Official Singles Chart before finally hitting No. 1, and Boone was head over heels after witnessing its enormous success.
“This is my first-ever trophy and my first Number 1 here in the UK! I want to thank you guys so much for the support you’ve shown this song. There’s so much more to come, I can’t wait for the album. Thank you, guys, endlessly. See you on tour soon!” said Boone in a statement.
In addition to hitting No. 1 in the UK, “Beautiful Things” also topped the charts in several other countries, including Australia, Canada, France, and Germany. It also topped the Billboard Global 200 chart and peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart just last week.

]]>This week marked the release of Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts (Spilled), the long-awaited deluxe edition of her latest studio album. This album gave us five amazing new songs, but “Obsessed” is shaping up to be another instant hit in Rodrigo’s impressive discography.
Metro Boomin and Future also made it to our list with “Like That” ft. Kendrick Lamar from their collaborative album We Don’t Trust You. Speaking of amazing collaborations, Shakira’s “Puntería” ft. Cardi B was released as the last single from her new album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran.
If you’re a fan of indie music, don’t fret because we also made room for some of the favorite alternative artists on this week’s list. Kick things off by listening to Fletcher’s new album In Search of the Antidote, including our favorite song “Pretending”.
Hozier also returned to our list this week, along with Aurora, Girl in Red, Sabrina Carpenter, Maggie Rogers, and many more amazing artists whose songs deserve a spot on your playlist.
